  1. Hi, I have checked the DME data with someone´s PIWIS on my C 4S 2004 and it looks strange to me.

The odometer shows 19.400 km, but the DME shows only 18.700km with 300 operating hours. Does it mean the DME had been exchanged?

Number of ignitions range 1 is very high with about 15.000 and 1600h. Range 2 is 8. What does that say?

I can not believe 15.000 ignitions in less than 20.000km. What is the difference between range 1 and 2?

    Can someone interpret this?

    Thanks, Marco

  2. @Loren

Of which car/year is the posted input/output diagram of the Bose system! In my 996 4S Coupe MY04, I have only 5 lead pairs going to tghe speakers plus another pair going to the sub! I have measured the resistance: One output seems to be connected in series to 2 speakers. However in the posted diagram 6 speaker outputs are shown, i.e. seperate outputs for all speakers.

Where are the terminals (A1, A2... B1, B2...) located in the plugs?

    Thanks, Marco

Would be helpful to know, what is the reason for the discrepancy !!

  4. Does nobody have any of these diagrams? That would be of great help! Meanwhile I found the input/output diagram of the Bose Most Amp. I need to know, how to connect the head unit to the non Most amp. By the way, is there only one amp or an additional for the subwoofer for the non Most systems? This is written in the Porsche spare parts list!

    Thanks, Thormann

  5. I have measured the dc resistance with a multimeter. I know, this is not exact, but should come close! While the speakers in the dash, door and rear side gave about 2 Ohm, the 5.25" in the sub shelf gave 0.8 Ohm. I have measured from the harness connected to the Bose Amp. I think the two 5.25" speaker are in parallel 2 Ohm each.

After studying the Porsche part list, it seems the speakers of the analogue (2002) and MOST (2003-...) Bose Systems are the same, i.e. same impedance! Thus, it should be possible to use the 2002 Bose amp of the analogue system. Am I correct?

(In the part list are two amps for the Most system, one is called "additional amplifier"! Why this?)

    Does anybody have

-wiring diagram of the Bose system

    -inputs/outputs of the Bose Amp

    -Technical spec.

for both the 2002 and MOST systems?

    Thanks, Gert

  6. Hi there,

I would very much like to know, what you did with the Sub. I think they are running even @ 1Ohm (I guess the two sub drivers are 2Ohm each, running parallel)!

I was looknig for an AMP running with 1Ohm, but only find Monoblocks with 1000W ;) Seems a little overdimensioned to me.

    Do you run them @2Ohm?

    Cheers, Thormann

  7. Thanks Bill!

Actually I am satisfied with the sound quality of my Bose package! However, I have only the CDR23 installed am I am looking for MP3, GPS, DVD, Bluetooth etc.

You have connected the dash and door speaker to a common output of the Amp! Did you use any filter? I think the door speaker are more bass orientated and the dash speakers for higher frequencies! How is the sound?

The remaining task for next weekend is to feed the subwoofer in the back from the existing head unit subwoofer output.

Does it mean you connect the sub directly to the Pioneer head unit?

The Alpine MRP F300 looks good to me and runs with 2 Ohm speakers!

    Thanks, Marco

  8. Thanks for the photos!

Yes, I am accessing the lists through CD6 (menu). There you will find ABC-Search, which is helpful to find a certain song. The problem occurs only in CD6 mode!!!

    Sorry Gert,

Been away on business so didn't get to see your post. I will look at your configuration on my GW this week-end and see if I can re-create your issue to see if it is the same for me.

    Ron

Had time to have a look this evening and this is what i was able to see. From the CD list menu I chose menu but I do not see ABC Search anywhere?

    RB

Thanks for looking! After choosing menu, there should be a lot of options, such as source, songs, playlists and so on. If you go to songs then, ABC Search should be offered.

Anyway, after you have chosen menu, and go go to track view, what is the first highlighted item? Can you choose this by pushing the knob?

  9. Thanks for your answer. Just to be sure:

    For example:

I go into the song list and the first item, that is highlighted is typically ABC-Search. I can not choose ABC Search with the knob, only with >>. If I turn the knob and select anything else in the list, i.e. any song or page forward, it is possible to choose by pushing the knob. Only the item, that is highlighted by default not.

Which PCM/FW do you have in your 4S.

    Thanks Gert

  10. Hi, I have a problem in operating the Gateway 500(FW 2.08) with my Ipod in GW User Interface mode.

Normally I scroll with the right knob of my PCM2 (SW 3.0) in the lists and confirm my selection by pushing the knob. However,

when I like to select the first highlighted item in a list, this is not possible by pushing the knob. You need to hold the >> button for some seconds, which is very inconvenient during driving. Is this normal or somehow possible to setup in a different way?

I had contacted the dension support, but received no helpful reply. Am I the only one with this problem?

    Thanks, Gert
