  1. Hi guys, I own a 2000 Mk1 GT3, and last week, i drove it around the city and noticed that the warning on the coolant temperature was flashing red. I checked the level of the coolant and it was normal. So i cut off the engine, then started it again, and evrything was normal again. My question is this: what could have caused the warning light to engage? Is this a normal occurrence, or should i worry and have the car checked? Thanks in advance, peace. :renntech: sid
  2. Hi, Just a simple question, whats the ideal tire pressure on stock gt3 mk1 wheels on a hot day? And whats the best tire pressure when i bring it to the track? Thanks in advance, peace! :renntech:
  3. THANKS A HEAP LOREN! :renntech:
  4. Hi, Lately i've noticed squeaking sounds that seem to be coming from the suspension of my mk1 gt3. It sounds like a squeaky old bed mattress, and its very annoying, and is can be most heard at very low speeds when car goes over bumps, even small ones. I just had my shock absorbers replaced(all 4, frggn expensive) more than a year ago, and i dont think i damaged my suspension that soon, since i dont really use the car that often, although our roads here in Manila are not quite gt3-friendly, or for any sports car for that matter. Id appreciate any inputs from you guys, thanks in advance. :renntech:
  5. Hi guys, I recently had xenon HID bulbs installed on my headlights and fog lamps on my 03 cayenne (v6). The problem is every time i switch on the headlights, the yellow exclamation point warning signal lights up, and the warning display reads: "headlights dipped low". The second problem is every time i switch on the fog lamps, the same warning signal lights up. What should i do with this problem? should i just revert to the stock bulbs? Thanks in advance guys, peace. :renntech:
  6. Thanks for the info guys! appreciate it :clapping:
  7. Hi guys, Its me again, i hope you can help me with this one- I noticed that everytime i leave my gt3 (996) unused in the garage after a couple of days (more than 5 days), the doors fail to unlock when the remote key is used (the signal lights dont even flash) and i have to open it manually by key insertion. I doubt that my battery is the culprit, because when i switch the ignition,it cranks up effortlessly. So there guys, what do you think? My apologies if ever this topic has been discussed in previous threads, and thanks in advance for your inputs, peace :renntech: sid
  8. Hey Sid, I have a 2005 V6 that came with 17" OEM's...after a year I could not stand it anymore...I had a little extra cash and my dealer just took 20" sport Techno's off another customers Cayenne they were upgrading. I was lucky to get a little off the price...WOW what a visual difference. As far as ride, yes its slightly stiffer. I was also worried about weight, but the brakes seem to feel better and acceleration does not seem to be any different. Overall I am very pleased. PS- I did ALOT of on-line research and ended up feeling better about staying with OEM. Maybe it's being overly cautious, but my family rides/drives the pepper...many wheels may be made by the same manufacturer and distributed under different names, but mine say "Porsche"... Good enough for me. Good Luck Hi Cjack, Sorry for a delayed reply, i was able to get 22inch rims for my cayenne and they look awesome! as for the ride, well,it doesnt really bother me. Thanks for the info bud, peace! sid
  9. Hi guys, I own a Cayenne v6 03 mdl, with the basic porsche head unit (wout nav). im thinking of replacing it with an aftermarket head unit. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sid
  10. Hi guys, I own a mk1 gt3, and i have a little recurring problem thats been bugging me a few months now. i noticed evrytime i start the engine in the morning and release the handbrake and begin to drive off, the car struggles for a moment to move and a popping noise can be heard from the rear wheels, before the car moves. Im thinking, did the hand brake get stuck even after i released it? I was told not to engage handbrake after using the car since the brakes are still very hot and may cause damage. Should i avoid using handbrake when parked in my garage? or do you guys think it may be a different problem? Thanks in advance! Peace :) Sid
  11. Hi guys, I own an 05 Cayenne v6. my constant problem is getting the perfect seating positon, and although it has all the seating controls from lumbar, tit, sway etc, i always get backaches after sometime driving my cayenne, and its really frustrating, eventhough i try my best to get the perefct drvng position! im not sure if it was designed for taller people? :P (i own a boxster and a gt3 996 and i the seats are way more comfortble. Any of you guys share the same problem? are there any other adjustment that can be made? or should i get an addition backrest/headrest cushion? thanks in advance guys. peace. sid
  12. HI, I recently bought a v6 cayenne 05, and i want to upgrade my stock wheels. My question is this: Where can i purchase wheels, whats a good aftermarket brand and whats a good size for the rims? Good meaning it looks great, at the same time doesnt sacrifice comfort. Thanks in advance! Sid
  13. Hi, i own a 996 gt3, and im having overheating problems. the problem first occured when i noticed that coolant was dripping from the reservoir. I had it checked and the mechanic discovered a hole in the reservoir and fixed it. After a few days, the car temp still increased even though the leak has been fixed, and the level of coolant sometimes goes doen min level, and then goes up again. Is my thermostat busted? Thanks!
