  1. Yes you can, I did and actually very common. I bought a used one with sticky knobs. Just swap the lcd screen.
  2. Ran my diagnostics with Durametric and found no errors in multimedia interface PCM this morning. But i did find a setting in the PCM " Traffic Button". From what I understand if it is enabled, then whatever is set in "Audio Set", if a Traffic annoncement is made it will switch to the frequency set in "PTY filter" I set it all to OFF. This seems to have fixed my problem. Broadcasts alerts (some of which are timed, others are urgent). When the traffic feed comes in, the audio system will automatically switch to that feed instead of the radio station you are listening to Further reading is in PCM 2.1 pages 23 thru 39. I guess if you reset your PCM which I did, it defaults to certain settings and one of them enables that Traffic crap. I would be listening to my iphone or cd and bam 87.5 would come in. It would occur a couple of times while I drove. Since 87.5 is the first frequency on the list, that would pop in.
  3. Nope, I am the warranty. Just hit 50k a month ago and it's my first glitch. Someone told me it could be a radio setting.
  4. I kind of have a similar problem. When listening to my cd, it tunes to an fm station. I am thinking my iPhone is interfering with the PCM? I am going to try without my phone.
  5. Does anyone know where that thingy hides? I cant find it. Thanks
  6. That sucks man I was told by sunset that it could not be ordered separately? I even researched the item?
  7. i wish I had the Balls to do stuff like that, I am just affraid of a major breakdown or CEL stuff.
  8. The only thing I would by next would be a 911 from 1968 thru 1972. Always wanted to get one but I have no more money and or space! Maybe one day?
  9. No I had the same problem. I ordered it from sunset Porsche 138.00. You get the whole piece
  10. I would not trade my 997 TT for a 991. I have seen them, yes they are nice but not for me. I am driving my last Porsche and its a TT. Does not get any better than that for me. I had a 993 S, then back to a 964 RSA and now my 997. I am done.
  11. I have been reading about the CAN bus system and it appears to me that most if your problem may be related to a control module. I myself have a problem with my illuminated entry door guards(factory) instal. It seems related to the control module. What I don't quite have figured out is if it's a plug and play thing. In other words, do I need the PIWIS tool to program? If that's the case than dealer it goes
  12. Also, do what I did ask your parts guy or service person to pull up the warranty history . That one is in the national database. It will tell you all that was reported that failed and give you an idea. It will give you details that will allow you to construct a service history.
  13. Hey guys could someone help me locate the fuse for the illuminated door guards. I lifted the moulding and checked and I see the wires. They are both not working. Thanks
  14. Guys I am a new owner of a 2007 TT. I have had Porsche before and done most of my maint. If it is not a major major repair job, I do most of it. I will be doing my oil change, brake flush, coolant, filter oil, cabin filter and little things. I love working on my car. Anyhow, any pointers or areas of concern please advise.
