  1. Thanks for the reply. If it’s just the switch it makes sense as it had been playing up a bit since I got the car in August. it needed 2 or 3 attempts to work. Barry
  2. Hi, It was -2c this morning and windows frosted shut. I don’t drop the windows until defrosted but as soon as I opened the door there were 5 loud thumping noises coming from door down near where the Bose speaker lives. After the windows defrosted I tried the switch and nothing. Not sure if this would indicate motor or regulator or even just the switch? From the noise I would guess It’s the motor but the window still drops and lifts properly on opening/ closing the door? Anyone had this before? thanks Barry
  3. Hi, Any advice about which bulbs I can put in my headlights LED or not.Any do’s and dont’s appreciated. Just want to change from stock as was quite shocked how bad they are compared to modern lights. 5-6000k preferably. 2007 Carrera. thanks. Barry
  4. Hi, I went to my dealer yesterday and asked about the paddle shift wheel. He says it is available in sea blue. I think this is the right colour as my sticker code is FE But... I have one of the 2009 sales brochures for the car and they only show ocean blue. My question is : are ocean blue and sea blue the same or did they just change the name? Thanks, Barry C2S PDK
  5. hI, I'm just about to get a 997.2 C2S PDK and I see they Porsche can do a paddleshift wheel for this. My question is what is the diameter of this wheel as legroom is a bit of an issue (6' 5")? Im ok on room with the existing multifunction wheel but that is slightly square at the bottom so I'm hoping the paddleshift wheel is a slighting smaller diameter. The item I'm looking at is 997 044 402 17. Also my car doesnt have sport plus so is the wheel still compatible? many thanks, BARRY
  6. I had it checked out and got a clean bill of health!! very happy and can now spend the money on 2 new rear tyres :D
  7. HI, I'm booked in here on Friday but they can send by post too. http://www.cayennepropshaft.co.uk/cayenne-propshaft-replacement-porsche-postalservice.html thanks, Barry
  8. it turn out to be a bulb just as you said. 12volt 1.5w. all working now and a pretty easy job if anyone is having any doubts about having a go. thanks, Barry
  9. Hi, I just went out for a short trip today and noticed that the speedo / trip computer screen is now blank. Could this be a fuse? The mileage display and oil display are ok so would they all be on the same circuit? thanks, Barry
  10. Hi, can anyone tell me what this wire is for. I removed the front pu for respray and the wire was taped right across the hood from one headlight to the other. thanks, Barry
  11. Does the steering wheel crest just glue on? I may replace mine as for some reason it only has one red stripe and the rest are gold and black.
  12. Hi, I'm 6.5 and I found that removing the lower centre console and replacing with the console delete kit ( as per gt3) helped a lot as it gives more room to splay your leg out. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...f=2&t=11942
  13. Hi gang, I just had an annual service done and was advised of an oil leak. They said it could trigger a CEL. I gave them the go ahead to do it but can't find any labour charge relating to it. They have fitted 996.107.237.52 and 2 hose clamps. Where abouts on the car are they? The 996.107.237.52 has a brief description as BELLOWS FO. Thanks.
  14. Thanks Loren, so does the old unit just unbolt when the cables are released?
  15. Hi Guys, I've just ordered the complete short shift kit as pictured below. I doubt it will have any instructions with it and so would like to know if there are any on here. I have searched but only found the TSB for the b&m shift. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks
  16. I agree that it doesn't look great but it is a tidy solution and helps a great deal if you have long legs.
  17. I don't have any either, so I think this is common. I do have a GT3 kit but I'm not sure that it's specific to that. I think it's more to do with the fact that they might melt being near to the exhaust box's !!
  18. see here, something similar has been running a while - http://www.petrolheads.co.uk/gassing/topic...=0&t=400915
  19. The trim at the lower (both sides) of the center console are located with push in clips and can be prised off easily (no screws) To remove the gear shifter trim see here http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...mp;hl=gearstick
