  1. Hi,

It was -2c this morning and windows frosted shut. I don’t drop the windows until defrosted but as soon as I opened the door

there were 5 loud thumping noises coming from door down near where the Bose speaker lives. After the windows defrosted

I tried the switch and nothing. Not sure if this would indicate motor or regulator or even just the switch? From the noise I would guess

It’s the motor but the window still drops and lifts properly on opening/ closing the door? Anyone had this before?

    thanks Barry

  2. Hi,

I went to my dealer yesterday and asked about the paddle shift wheel. He says it is available in sea blue. I think this is the right colour as my sticker code is FE But... I have one of the 2009 sales brochures for the car and they only show ocean blue. My question is : are ocean blue and sea blue the same or did they just change the name?

    Thanks, Barry C2S PDK

  3. hI,

I'm just about to get a 997.2 C2S PDK and I see they Porsche can do a paddleshift wheel for this. My question is what is the diameter of this wheel as legroom is a bit of an issue (6' 5")?

Im ok on room with the existing multifunction wheel but that is slightly square at the bottom so I'm hoping the paddleshift wheel is a slighting smaller diameter.

The item I'm looking at is 997 044 402 17. Also my car doesnt have sport plus so is the wheel still compatible?

    many thanks, BARRY

  4. Hi gang,

I just had an annual service done and was advised of an oil leak.

They said it could trigger a CEL.

I gave them the go ahead to do it but can't find any labour charge relating to

it. They have fitted 996.107.237.52 and 2 hose clamps. Where abouts on the

car are they? The 996.107.237.52 has a brief description as BELLOWS FO.

    Thanks.

  5. 996 Engine Failure

I would like to try and start a log of all the failed 996 engines to see how many there really are.

By the power of the internet, we could see if this is a significant problem or not once and for all.

I don't want to go off half cocked so would welcome any views as to how best to go about this.

see here, something similar has been running a while - http://www.petrolheads.co.uk/gassing/topic...=0&t=400915

  6. Has anybody seen the instructions to do this on a 987?

I want to get at the small compartment in the center console so I can mount a switch but I can't figure how to get the trim off around the shifter and the pieces that wrap around the lower portion of the center console at the bottom?

    Thanks!

The trim at the lower (both sides) of the center console are located with push in clips and can

be prised off easily (no screws)

To remove the gear shifter trim see here
