A question for the wheel and tire gurus: I'm considering a set of 19" wheels (Porsche Carrera Classics) off of a widebody 997 with Pilot Sports (Front: 235/35/19, Rear: 305/30/19). Will these fit on a 2002 996 C4S?

There should be an option list sticker on the underside of the front trunk. Write the numbers down then look them up on the option code lookup tables here. If you don't see option 030 (sport suspension) then you have a stock suspension. Loren, Do you know if all 2002 996 C4S's come with the M030 suspension? I checked my option code sticker and M030 isn't listed. Thanks All US C4S came with US Sport Suspension. Thanks Loren, guess I have the M030. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on this "adding H & R springs to the M030" debate.

I am thinking about going up to 19" wheels on my 2002 C4S Coupe because I like the look of the car with 19" rims. Currently, I'm running the stock 18" Turbo Twists with Pirelli P-Zeros (which I plan to change either way) and stock suspension. For those of you who have done it, what do you think in retrospect? How much was your ride and handling effected? I don't track my car, but I do like to play on twisty roads. Was it worth the $5000 - $6000 cost to do? Thanks! :cheers:

I bought a connector that plugged into the back of the Becker 220 replacing the connector to the CD changer in the trunk. It also required a hot wire and ground connection (easy enough to find in the dash). You navigated to the song/artist/album/playlist via the iPod. The song info did not show up on the Becker. I didn't like it because I wanted to just leave the iPod in the glove compartment and be able to control from the Becker. I've since replaced my 220 with a Becker Indianapolis (that I bought off eBay) and installed a Becker Remote Kit for iPod. All the song, artist etc. info shows up on the Becker Indianapolis and the iPod can be controlled from the Becker (and it shuts off when the radio is off). The iPod stays hidden in the glove box. The amber Becker Indianapolis display matches the rest of the dash. There is a downside to this set up that I don't like. You can scroll through your iPod by artist, album, genre, playlist, etc.; but you can narrow down. What I mean by that is if I choose "artist" and scroll to "The Beatles", I cannot then pick a particular Beatles album (Revolver for instance). Instead, I have to go back to "albums" and scroll through ALL albums (not just Beatles albums) to get to "Revolver". If I were to do it all over again, I think I would go with one of the double DIN touch screen units (like the Pioneer) and move my A/C controls down to the lower dash. The cost would be a bit more, but the control over the iPod (and the GPS that comes in most of these double DIN units) would be worth the money I think. I've attached a picture of the Becker Remote box which shows the Indianapolis' display when it is hooked to the iPod.

Loren, Can the Durametric software change this option?
