  1. It would be nice, but I don't think it is necessary. Most hack/mods/upgrades/etc. that require part have the part numbers listed.

@Loren, Thanks for the description, I always wondered what that feature was. maybe it's time to become a contributing member.

Also, you might consider adding a description like that to the, Contributing Member sticky so people now what it is they are donating to gain access too.

  2. Hi,

I am finally getting ready to do the intermittent wiper hack, with the dash switch, and relay. With the help of my Bentley manual, I know how to everything, and will be posting instructions on how to do this in the near future. The only thing I still need to do this hack are some kind of spade connector. I have only been able to find a picture, so if anyone knows the name of these or where I can get some, it would be great.

    Thanks!

  3. Yes, the fuse in that slot is empty, so you have to add it if you don't have heated seats. If you have heated seats you don't have to add a a fuse because it is already there, it doesn't make a difference. Go ahead and try it it only costs like $1 in parts so then if it doesn't work you're out $1, and if it does work you saved $10.

  4. My advice would be to loosen all the adjustment screws, then have someone push forward on the top as you latch the front, then tighten all the screws. It took me a few hours total to adjust my hardtop properly, it took about an hour when I got it, then about two hours a few week later once the top had molded to my car a little better. Make sure you have the caps on the front of the hardtop, The best advice I can give you is to have someone push forward with all there weight on the top so you get a tight fit.

  5. I hate bumping old threads, but wanted to give a little UPDATE the will hopefully help people in the future.

There are two types of RTS (Roof Transport System), the old one and the new one. The old one came with two mounts one for the hardtop and one for the body of the car. The RTS was upgraded at the same time the hardtop lost the, "ears," to include only one universal mount.

I have an original RTS and a hardtop with ears. After driving with the RTS mounted on the the hardtop, I got some noise issues due to the extra weight on the top. So I tried the body RTS mounts (pictures above, thanks Tool Pants), with my hardtop. They fit just fine, I was hesitant because I though because it had two mounts one for the hardtop and one for the soft top, but I was wrong. The ones I thought were for soft top only use, work just fine with the hardtop, and although the part number is different from the newer RTS mounts they appear to be identical.

So apparently if you have an older RTS you can use it with any hardtop, via the body mounts. And if you have the newer RTS then you just have the body mounts, and that works too. I am going to switch to the body mounts to hopefully eliminate the noise the RTS caused through the hardtop, keep the top from flying off of the car if I am ever in an accident, and add a "roll cage" to my Boxster.
