  1. A friend was driving behind me during some very inclement weather and said I only had the drivers side rear fog light working. I checked the bulb on the passenger side and...it was missing. I swapped the drivers side bulb in and it still didn't work. Is this normal ?? Is the passenger rear fog light a euro option only, not intended for US use ??? Any suggestions welcome !! Vehicle in question is a 00MY Cab Tiptronic
  2. Hello all, Just went through the whole MAF replacement thing and have been fine for a while, then yesterday on moderate acceleration the PSM & ABS lights go off. Then after a few minutes the CEL shows, it was like seeing old friends...the difference this time is the car still runs normal...I know I need to check the codes, but has anyone experienced this lately and found out it was something else besides the MAF ?? Turning off the car does not clear anything, and disconnecting the battery clears the CEL, but the ABS & PSM come right back after starting. Any suggestions welcomed...car is a 2000 cab tip w/k&n CAI (oil free filter) & 51k miles Thanks
  3. I have a 2000 Cab tiptronic (50K) and just installed K&N's #63-7000, the one that replaces the air box with a conical filter. Drove great for 40 miles then the ABS & PCM light come on, then car starts to drive like s#@t...then the CEL light appears. From searching the forum it seems like the MAS is toast. So I tried cleaning it by spraying a little alcohol (pure) in the various holes and wires, but the car still won't idle or run right. Do I need to try a contact cleaner, or buy a new MAS ?? As I write this I am soaking the filter in hot water & detegent to remove any oil. Any advice is greatly appreciated !! :D Update....new MAS in and everything works....my advice is if anyone goes with the K&N setup is to soak the filter in hot water and detergent to remove all the oil before you install....was amazed at how much oil and red dye came out...thanks to all who read & advised !!!
  4. Sounds just like what mine was doing, new regulator and it was all good again...Good luck !! Regards :D
  5. Hello Ronin... First, Sunset quoted me around $400 for a new unit...but a salvage yard in California had one for $200 plus shipping. Second, I'm not sure if its sold as one or two piece, but I can tell you the one I received was with motor and all. Third, absolutely zero on any info or tips on anything...and I even spoke to a Porsche tech who advised me "not to attempt this". Fourth, no pics...but...I have retained the intimate memorys of this adventure (took the better part of a whole day doing this). Its not as hard as I was lead to believe, but you definitely can not be faint of heart. Be happy to give you details if your interested.... Regards
  6. Hello all, First post on this board which has been a great resource of information...I have a 2000 Cabriolet and the passenger side quarter window stopped working (only grinding). I just replaced the door window regulator with all the tips on this forum...many thanks....but there is almost zero info on how to replace the quarter window regulator....Any and all help/suggestions greatly appreciated !!! ***update*** Well, after a Porsche tech "advise that you not attempt this", I jumped in. Conclusion...I replaced my defective regulator and buttoned everything back up and...it works great, took the better part of a whole day. If the regulator in the door is a 5/10 difficulty, this was probably a 8.5/10. One piece of advice I will share because I had to learn the hard way, DO NOT EVER DROP ANYTHING INTO WHERE THE REGULATOR RESIDES. If anyone needs some tips on this procedure, I would be happy to advise...
