  1. My car had the same problem. It was the throwout bearing. They removed the clutch and transmission, and replaced the clutch disc, throwout bearing, etc under warranty. Hoorah for Porsche. I must say my old clutch NEVER felt as smooth as the new one. It is like driving a brand new car. E
  2. My car is at the dealer, 2006 997s convertible and when starting out in first gear only, the clutch makes a sound like a chirp or a squeak like wood rubbing most of the time. I notified the dealer about six months ago. They could not find anything. Now I took the service manager for a ride recently and he heard it every time. He thinks it might be the pilot bearing. It usually happens when the car is really warmed up. Anybody else have any suggestions? It is driving me bananas, almost to the point of getting rid of my beloved car...:-( Thanks!
