    Guys; After searching in the database, I found some information regarding the headlight locking process. Since I own my car (1 year now), I'm trying to lock the passenger side light module but the Porsche tool looks to be stripped. I cannot lock the light module. I did read that we can use an Hex 5mm socket to do a better job. My question: The Porsche tool is open at the center (hole) but I guess the Hex socket not. Is this a problem. Is it possible to find an Hex socket with an hole in the center? Thanks! Thierry

    Guys; I'm facing the same spark plug tube oil leakage. I have all parts ready for the repair, but anybody can confirm what degreaser I can use to spray on the oil and clean the mess on the engine aluminum block? Thanks! Thierry

    Loren, you're absolutely right. I guess the 0.7 mm written on the box is the distance between a ground electrode and insulator. But I did mesure the distance between a ground electrode and the the center electrode and it's around 1.6 mm Thanks! Thierry

    I will do a spark plug job over next weekend on my 03 Boxster 2.7. Did buy six Beru Ultra 14FGR-6KQU with 0.7mm gap. Any body can confirm what is the needed gap for my car or if I stays with BERU factory gap? Tks! Thierry

    Hi guys; I have to change my 03 Base Boxster front bumper cover because of a major dent. I saw on the used market a very nice 03-S Boxster bumper cover. Any body can confirm if it will fit my 03-Base Boxy? I know there is a center grill on an S-Bumper. Maybe I can block it from the inside or leave it that way? Need your help on that Thierry

    Hi guys; I'm ready for my winter maintenance. Would like to change all 6 plugs because I don't know how old are the actual one. What is the Bosch part number for a 03, 2.7 motor Boxster and gap for the plugs? Tks!

    Have a 03 Bosxter base and would like to change my oval exhaust tip for the S type. Anybody can confirm if the replacement is only a matter of unscrewing the stock one and screw the S one at the same place without any more work to do? Thanks! Thierry

    Finally decided to go by the front. Did built and rivet two steel brackets to offset the amplifier the same way the lock is. Looks nice, take not much space. Thierry

    Finally changed my RCA cable and did what cassiebox says on post #6. This is very acceptable. Still a little wining, but it doesn't go higher with RPM so with volume at 2 or 3 no noise is disturbing... Thanks a lot to all of you. There's nothing like sharing experiences, good and bad. Thierry

    Do you mean grounding the amplified sub itself to the chassis using a screw that is on the sub enclosure??? Tried it, no result. I did another test. Unplug the RCA cable from the amplified sub, engine running & a cd running in the deck. No noise. Still with RCA cable not plugged in the sub, when I touch the negative side of the RCA male connector, I mean the outside pin of the connector, same humming noise starts. Does it sound something for you?

    Did try it. It cut noise for about 50% but not more than that!

    To answer the questions: 1- Both amplifier & subwoofer are getting there power individually, directly from the + battery pole with an individual fuse holder. 2- I did use an other RCA cable that was passing from deck to sub over the seats (clearly out of the power field). No change. New step. I'd try the RCA ground loop isolator at sub RCA input. It works but I'm clearly loosing power.

    No better result. I have an Alpine CDA9885 deck, an Alpine Mrpf-250 amplifier and Blaupunkt THB200A amplified subwoofer. I use RCA cables from deck to amplifier (front & rear) and RCA cable for subwoofer. When I unplug the RCA's on sub, no more wining. When I plug amplifier RCA's but unplug amplifier RCA's no more wining. I did try to plug all three ground together at the same point, No change, still wining. I can ear wining not only when engine running, but just with the contact on prior to start the car I can ear noise in speakers produced by pumps & car electric components...All 3 RCA cables are good quality Monster Cable. I'll try a ground loop isolator for the sub RCA and see the result. Do you have any idea for a solution?

    Done some troubleshooting. The problem is comming from my pre-amplified subwoofer. I have a very small Blaupunkt THB200A. When I unplug the RCA cables from back of the radio, humming stops. I try another thing. Unplug actual RCA cable both ends and try another RCA cable, no change. Next try will be for tomorrow, I will look to the sub ground. Maybe it is not good! Will use another cable and ground it solid and make another try... There should be a solution! I don't want to use a bandaid like a GLI... Thierry

    Guys; Just installed my kit. Works great when engine not running. When I start it I can ear the engine wining noise in all speakers. What is the best solution to eliminate that noise? Thierry

    I'm not sure I will answer your question, but personally, I'm using the existing wiring. Factory speaker wiring is going from speakers (doors + dash mounted) to the OEM amplifier plug in the front trunk. So knowing the color codes, I welded new wires from there and route it to the new amplifier I installed.

    I'm personally planning to screw it on the lower left side when facing the spare tire. Is there any problem to use self tapping screws and screw the amplifier in the steel wall of the car? Do you have other options? Thierry

    Hi, I'll be wiring my new amp. (repace the oem) this week. My amplifier will be in front trunk. I would like to use speakers wiring that goes to the actual oem amplifier plug to route them to my new amplifier. That will save lot's of wiring time. Any body know the colors code wires VS speakers? Are the one color wires positive or negative VS the two colors wires? Thanks for your help. Thierry

    Guys; I should receive my new Alpine amplifier in few days. I would like to route wiring between my Alpine radio and the front compartement where the amplifier will take place. No problem for (+) & (-), very easy with battery next to the amplifier, but I have to route a pair of RCA cable from back of my radio to the amplifier. I'm sure, lot's of people here did it, so I'm asking to you guys where did you cross the fire wall between inside car & front compartment? Did you drill a new hole? Where? Or did you cross the wall somewhere across an existing rubber grommet? Thanks for sharing your experience. Thierry

    What Mobil 1 grade I should use? Also, I'll be changing motor oil in my garage the same day I will wintherise my car for the nest 6 months. Is it better to add new oil and not start the engine or better to start engine for couple of minutes to lubricate it with new oil? Thanks for your help.
