  1. Hi all, I have a 2001 Boxster S that I want to put 18's on, and I have 2 sets of wheels I am looking at.

    Porsche Carerra C2 Wheels 997.362.142.00 11 x 18

    and 997.362.136.00 8 x 18

    or

    Italias 18 x 9.5 and 18.8

My plan is to put the 225/40ZR-18 SUMITOMO HTR Z III XL on the front and

265/35ZR18 Sumitomo HTR Z III on the rears.

As of now I am leaning towards the Italias, but am unsure which spacer to use.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. P1123 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Lean Threshold

This the mixture is too rich - but only on bank 1. Odd with the 1128 and 1130.

    Hmm... MAF?

    P1128 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 2 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Rich Threshold

    P1130 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 2 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold

This says that DME can not make the mixture rich enough - that is, you have too much air getting into the engine.

Could be a bad MAF, a leaking AOS, or even a broken oil filler tube.

    - Intake air system leaking.

    - Fuel pressure too low.

    - Volume supply of fuel pump too low.

    - Fuel injectors fouled.

I had the 1128 and the 1130 last week, and while driving the CEL flickered and the engine felt like it was stuttering. It is new MAF time. That is where I would start. ('01 Boxster S w/ 103,000 miles)

  3. I'm new to this and tried to post this earlier, not sure if it worked. I may have posted in the wrong topic, sorry. I have a 2003 996TT iptronic and it came with a GAIC flashloader. Does anyone have any experience with this device? Also, I want to contact them directly but have been unable to locate a phone number. I've sent a couple of emails but haven't gotten a reply.

On another note, what are your thoughts on the Durametric scanner?

    Thanks for the help

    BT

I have a durametric, and it has been useful, as I identified a few Check Engine Lights that came on, and it allowed me to reset them. I had an MAF go bad, and it is being replaced. However, if you don't plan to do the work your self, I'm not sure if you will get the benefit from it.

  4. I have a K40 systems in 997 and V1s in all our others cars. We have a new GTS being delivered this week and my question is simple. What should I put in the GTS? We are 70% Florida small city town driving and balance I95 and I4 interstates. We heard the new redlight cams are coming to our area. My daughter has managed to collect four DC stationary camera based speeding tickets and she has a V1.

    Thank you

    Richard

My friends and I own 5 V1's between us, and have been more than please with them. I've not tried a K40, as it wouldnt work for my application. I have hardwired the V1 with remotes in 3 vehicles, and just move the unit from vehicle to vehicle.

As for the tickets using a V1, The V1 can only warn you, and if yo don't heed the warning, or it is instant on and you are the first car, the V1 (or any other radar detecter) can't and won't help. 2 bits of advice, pay attention, slow down. :)

  5. After much suspicion, I have verified that the speedometer on my 2001 Boxter S (12,000 miles)

is reading consistantly 4 mph faster than the actual speed of the vehicle (stock wheels and tire sizes).

Are there any programming changes or calibration updates that can correct this?

Does anyone else have this concern?

I also have an '01 Boxster S (with 102,400 miles!) and i was using a borrowed GPS the other day, and my speedo is also registering 4 mph fast.

I doubt that there is anything we can do, other than keep that 4 mph in the back of our minds. My Land Rover LR3 also registers 4 mph fast, can you say conspiricy? ;)

  6. I have an '01 Boxster S with 102,000 miles on it. I had a check engine light come on yesterday, with the following codes;

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P1130

Description:Porsche fault code 361 - Oxygen sensing adaptation

    Repair Infomation:idle range bank 2

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P0300

Description:Porsche fault code 62 - Misfire damaging to cat.

    Repair Infomation:converter

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P0306

Description:Porsche fault code 68 - Cylinder 6 misfire damaging to

    Repair Infomation:cat. converter

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P0305

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P1128

Description:Porsche fault code 360 - Oxygen sensing adaptation

    Repair Infomation:idle range bank 1

I reset the CEL (I have a Durametric)

    Today, While driving (Right after changing the oil) the Check Engine light flickered, and the engine felt like it was stuttering a bit. The codes are;

    Fault Number:P1130

Description:Porsche fault code 361 - Oxygen sensing adaptation

    Repair Infomation:idle range bank 2

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P0300

Description:Porsche fault code 62 - Misfire damaging to cat.

    Repair Infomation:converter

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P0306

Description:Porsche fault code 68 - Cylinder 6 misfire damaging to

    Repair Infomation:cat. converter

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P0305

Description:Porsche fault code 67 - Cylinder 5 misfire damaging to

    Repair Infomation:cat. converter

    DTC Count = 5

    Fault Number:P1128

Description:Porsche fault code 360 - Oxygen sensing adaptation

    Repair Infomation:idle range bank 1

Does this indicate any issues that changing all 4 O2 sensors wont solve?

    Thanks!

  7. My '01 S just turned 100,000 miles last weekend. I have had it a year and bought it with 95,000 on it. The only issue I have had are the valve covers weep a bit of oil,, so I know that sooner or later I will need to replace the gaskets, and, just after I hit 100,000 the check engine light came on, for the oxygen sensors. I reset them, and 1,000 miles later, car runs perfectly and no more check engine light.

Enjoy! Let us know which you get.

  8. Hi folks, I am looking for some advice on the best place to install a 2 meter ham radio transceiver. I need to connect to 12 volts (preferably the battery, and get the antenna wire to the transceiver. My radio has a remote faceplate that is separate from the transceiver body, so I need to run a phone cord (like the Valentine 1 uses) into the passenger compartment. i am also looking for the best place for an antenna.

    Advice please? Thanks very much!

Oh, if it matters, it is a Yaesu FT8900 radio
