  1. Question - I went to the Denison site for the IceLink and it stated the a 2004 996 is not compatible yet. Is this true as you describe connecting to a 996? Thanks!
  2. I have had this same issue happen around 4-5 times over the last 15 months of owning my 2004 C4S. The radio lights up with no sound when I start the car. If I shut the radio off and/or car, the problem still exists. If I wait a 30-60 minutes and start the car, problem resolved. This may have something to do with heat but either way this is a gremlin that Porsche should address with Bose. I too will request them to look into it when I bring my car in for its first service.
  3. 82K sounds high with those miles and the fact its been titled. 70-75 is more in-line. I have a 04 C4S with 6K on it and the car is solid and a blast to drive. I also think the new 997 doesn't quite have the same look as the 4S and I'd wait for the new 4s or turbo before going into the new model. I have the performance package on my car and I feel my C4S is just as fast and handles better than the new 997. I'd go for the C4S and drive the hell out of it! It loves to be driven hard.
  4. I have a 2004 C4S with the same issue. It is really annoying to look in your rear-view mirror to see the headliner blowing up and down (good inch or two). This is an engineering oversight in my opinion as the headliner should be streteched tighter or another bracket installed underneath to hold it in place.
  5. Proammatore, Car looks great. I have a Atlas Grey 2004 C4S and I'm thinking of adding the Ruv RGT kit. If you don't mind asking, how much did you pay for the front bumper and side skirts? Did you have to get them painted and if so, who did it? Also, who did the install? Local Porsche Dealer? Thanks, DFC. Hey D_Man, You should do it! I got the Ruf RGT front bumper and side skirts for my 996 Cab and I'm really happy with it. Ruf's aerokits actually improve performance (improved downforce and cooling) and look aggressive without being over the top (I am not a big fan of TechArt for this reason). Anyway, you should contact Weissach (http://www.weissach.com). They're the North American distributor for Ruf. Cheers, .:programmatore:. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  6. Where is the best on-line store to buy the OEM Silver Porsche Hood Crest and the clear European style side markers? Thanks.
  7. Car is brand new. Would this be a manufacturing defect from Porsche to put in two different size bulbs? Sounds odd...
  8. My wife noticed that my back brake lights have different brightness. The left red brake light is substantially less bright from the right. Has anyone else noticed this on their car? Is this a result of different size bulbs or some short in the wiring? Thanks.
  9. Just figured it out. My relay number was 996.618.980.03. I took it out and the exhaust didn't silence however my PSE switch no longer worked. Based on what I read, I would need to open the relay, remove the four prong jumper and insert the relay back into the panel. The PSE switch should now work without the auto mute between 3-5000 RPMs. Is this the correct procedure? Thanks.
  10. Thanks. I take it I simply unplug it and leave it hanging there? Is PSE auto mute between 30-45MPH the only thing this relay effect? Will my PSE on-off switch still work? As always, thanks so much Loren.
  11. Loren, Where do I find the PSE relay and the instructions to remove it? Thanks! DFC.
  12. My C4S has the short shifter installed as a factory option. I don't notice any difference on shifting to reverse from other gears. They should be able to make some minor adjustments to fix the problem.
  13. Paid $3000 which included the PSE, on-off switch and the installation. I believe the list price for the PSE is $2400. Note the on-off switch was a very labor intensive to install. I don't believe you have to get this installed which may save some bucks on the install. I probably could have negotiated a better price but I received a 5% discount for the car with all the factory options.
  14. All I can say is wow!!! I received my car back today from the dealer as they installed the PSE with the on-off dash switch. I ordered this when I bought the car a few weeks ago after hearing it on another 911. I am not sure how many of you have heard the difference but it is truly an amazing sound. From 3000-5000 RPMs it makes an incredible gargling/cracking sound similar to a custom Harley. When idling, you also hear the gargle with a bit of a spitting sound like it needs more air. For those who love the car but want a stronger growl from the pipes, I'd strongly recommended this option. My two cents.... :clapping: DFC
  15. bavarian, how is the quality of the IPod over the FM transmitter? Do you know if there is a way to connect the unit via RCA cables directly to the Becker unit? Also, is there a specific cable from Apple that enabled you to hook the IPod up to the cell connector above? If not, how did you accomplish this to get power? Thanks.
  16. Loren, Does the switch come with the PSE or do I have to order this? Would my dealer install this as part of the standard install process or do I need to make an additinal request. Thanks....
  17. Thanks for the feedback. Couple of questions, I currently have the chrome four-tube sports tailpipes. Do this attached to the new sports exhaust system or do they put on different tips? I was also told that because the exhaust system was an add on that I they could not install the on-off switch on the dash to turn the exhaust on-off for loudness. Is this true or can the switch be installed? I'm an fine with not have the switch but wanted to know what is possible.
  18. My porsche sport exhaust is in for my new CS4. Question, is the old exhaust worth anything since it is pretty much brand new? Should I just give it to the dealer or is their a potential buyer out there on eBay or third party porsche service company? Thanks.
  19. How do you install your first garage door opener? Did you use a third party product (Sharkworks) or did you hard wire the opener behind the button? Any pictures? Thanks.
  20. Where can I get aluminum pedals for my 2004 CS4? Does Porsche resell any? Does anyone know of a solution for integrating a garage door opener transmitter into one of the existing non-used rocker buttons or adding a button into the instrument cluster or in the rear view mirror/light unit? Thanks.
