  1. All the 2007 RS's I've driven (5) have a wicked harmonic buzz from the drivers door panel at around 2800rpm. This can be almost cured by removing the door panel and istalling some thin high density foam over the rear 3/4 of the door. Do NOT cover the airbag.
  2. Do not use an aftermarket oil filter, for the $18-20 for a genuine one it's not worth screwing around. Porsche are very picky about their oil filters. Also you have no idea how high a Porsche dealerships overhead is, yes they charge a lot but there is a reason for that. If you do the work yourself and it goes wrong then you have no recourse, all the work performed at a Porsche dealer is guaranteed and they have to stand behind it. Yes an oil change is a relatively easy job to do, and I'm not suggesting you aren't very capable of doing it, BUT how much is a new Porsche diesel engine. Also it is not the same engine as fitted to other cars in the VAG, despite what many people think. Just my 2 cents
  3. Help!! I have a Litronic conversion to do, I have all the parts, but the instructions are in German. I hate to try and wing this one as I don't want to blow up the igniter units. Does anyone have a DIY for this conversion or the original TSB in English or French Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. :help:
  4. Why reduce the value of your car and risk having to buy new gauges when you f**k up the indicator needles. At best your gauges will be put of calibration, at worst you buy a new set of gauges. The factory faces are perfectly good so I advise to leave well enough alone and wait to buy your next Pcar with colored gauges. The stick on faces tend to come unglued especially in the high heat of summer and can limit the range of movement of the indicator ....I've seen it more than a few times on customer cars. And if you want to remove the stick on's there is then the problem of removing the adhesive residue from the original gauge face without destroying it. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Thanks for the page from the PET I have that already. There are no hoses at all on my car. :(
  6. Hi All, I've had a recurring problem with a CEL that is caused by a P0118 code. According to the Porsche dealer tech line the problem may be at the control valve for the transmission oil cooler. Upon further inspection myself I found that the vacuum lines to the valve and control solenoid were missing completely (left off at factory). I need for someone out there to have a look on their own GT3 just forward of the trans cooler to see if they have vacuum lines attached and if so where is the source. It makes no sense to me that Porsche would install a valve and control solenoid and then not connect it. I think this was an oversight at the factory. Many thanks. Ron :help:
  7. Thanks, any info would be appreciated :D
  8. Does anyone know if it is possible to activate the DRL's on a 2004 US GT3 by using the PST-2/3 or if the DRL's have to be hardwired from the factory. I know there is a hack for earlier 986/996's but would like to know if this is still the case for 04 cars.
  9. I'm sure that it is only possible to check order status through a dealer PCNA network connection. Am I correct?
