  1. Wondering if anyone knows how to change the ash tray cover. I have a older silver one and the little white pin that keeps it in the closed position broke. I bought a new assembly, but the cover is black instead of silver so I was hoping to swap the 2. Thanks in advance
  2. I know it maybe a dumb question but what is a start cable? By connecting the pos and neg together does this reset the computer? Is it possible to start the car after charging and without a booster ? You have to be sure concern the battery condition, 100% is the reference. If yes, try this: Note the code for the radio or PCM Disconnect the negative cable from the battery Disconnect the positive cable from the battery To preserve for accidents - remove the battery Connect the negative and positive cable with each other by using a start cable for 15 minutes Install the battery Connect the positive cable to the battery Connect the negative cable to the battery Do the learning process for the windows Insert the code for the radio or PCM Hope this help.
  3. Hoping someone can help me out with the following issue. Tried starting my 2000 2.7ltr that had not been started in 2weeks with no success I received audio beeps as well as warning light with windows flickering up and down Booster the car with success and let it run for approx 10 minutes Tried to restart with success Left battery charger on car, but the warnings I mention above have not disappeared My thoughts are that there must be a reset of some sort for this type of situation, but I looked through my manual and it does not speak of one. Any thoughts on what I need to do to get warnings to disappear?? Thanks in advance for helping a newbie
  4. I was wondering if someone could help me with what I think could be an alarm issue. When I lock the doors after exiting the car I usually do not hear the horn beep, but sometimes I do. Why would this be the case? I checked the doors and they are locked, but I am wondering if the car is indeed armed or if the doors have just locked. I do get 2 light flickers when locking the doors and the flashing led in the cars works. I do get a single flicker once I open the doors as well. Any suggestions????
  5. I have pulled my CDR 220 from my 01 Boxster and do not have the code to get it working again. Can someone please help? Model # - BE 4462 Serial # - Y5053946 Thanks in advance
  6. Hoping someone can help me with a code for my CDR 220 that came with the wrong Code card. The model is BE 4462 with a serial number X5030171 Thanks in advance for the help.
  7. I just located the manual online and I see that there is a 10amp fuse lacted on the back. I will give that a try. I have confirmed a positive status on the fuse box. Do you know if there are a lot of issues with these head units? They are expensive units so I would assume that they should be better than most. Thanks for the help
  8. I was wondering if someone could help me out with a CDR 220 that has a blinking LED and will not power ON. I just bought this 986 and the battery was dead when I picked it up and I replaced that. The new battery lasted about 4hours and then the car died. It was determined that I needed to replace the aternator and the car has been fine since, but I can not get the head unit to power up. Can someone please help me out with soem suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help
