  1. Believe it or not , mine had a "dead" area in the door seal, by the mirror. I had the same issues and finally checked the seal with the ol dollar bill teuck and found it. 1) It leaked in around the mirror and hafl way down the front 2) Followed the radius of the doorto the bottom 3) Dripped onto the rocker panel carpet on the rear half and wicked all the way to the floor carpet behind the seat. Have you also noticed the top of the interior rocker panel trim wet after a rain? Thats a dead giveaway... see photo In my experience, German plastics and rubber products are junk on these cars...
  2. Found it! http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/50264-success-finally-fixed-hard-start-while-hot-fueling-issues.html http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-parts/hardparts.php?dir=986-97-04&section=107-10
  3. Intake vent valve fixed mine... http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/50264-success-finally-fixed-hard-start-while-hot-fueling-issues.html http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-parts/hardparts.php?dir=986-97-04&section=107-10
  4. I'm 99% sure it's the sensor on the evap system sensor on the intake. I chased the same issues for 3 years and $40 and an hour of my time fixed it...Ill try to find the thread...
  5. The fix and part info is here:) http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/50264-success-finally-fixed-hard-start-while-hot-fueling-issues.html
  6. I had the same issue for years. I'm 99% sure it's the evap system purge valve at the intake (mine was bad - $40-50 and an hour to fix) or at the charcoal canister behind the fender liner...I replaced it all before tracing it back to the intake. Do a "purge valve" search here, it's been covered in 2013/2014 with a pic and PN
  7. I agree w Timbo, other than something in the clutch away, maybe check the belt, tensioners, and maybe a worn water pump...the WP impeller is plastic. When my shaft failed it had excess play that caused the squeak (plastic fan against engine case. But you would also likely have a small water leak as well...
  8. Any recommendations, opinions, differences? Im looking at the AutoTops Direct - German A5 Acoustic top for $639... Thanks, Chris
  9. Been dealing with my 2800-3000 vibration for over 10 years now (2000 Boxster). It stopped briefly after the new Porsche engine in 2005. I just replaced the trans and motor mounts along with new Fabspeed exhaust and the vibrations are gone!!! Finally! The engine mount was totally ripped too...thing is back in 2005 the dealer said it was ok, BUT you can only verify via disassembly of the mount (the plastic side covers prevent a visual inspection of the actual rubber mount). Another observation: there is a TREMENDOUS amount of vibration especially upon deceleration with the Boxster. This is evident by watching the Fabspeed intermediate flex-pipes while revving the engine...I do suspect the exhaust as the culprit too...and I DO still have a tiny bit now at 1200 rpm with the Fabsped exhaust too as the intermediate pipe on the drivers side is very close to the rear sway bar. Chris
  10. See "JFP from PAs" post from July 12 2013 here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/41644-evap-canister-valve/ I had the exact same issue! Just fixed mine in an hour...after replacing all the other evap related parts I tried this one with success: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/more_info.cgi?pn=996-110-129-06-M100&catalog_description=&Regeneration%2520Valve%2520from%2520Throttle%2520Body%2520for%2520Fuel%2520Vapor%2520System%252C%2520Boxster%252FBoxster%2520S%2520%2528%2531%2539%2539%2537%252D%2530%2534%2529%252C%2520Each%2520 $140.00 and I am 99% you ARE good to go!!! Chris
  11. Anyone know of a good body shop around the Ann Arbor, MI area? I hit a deer about 40mph, the car is nort crunched up , but light damage from the RH headlight across the hood.windshield and down the whole left side :( Sad part is I just spent all spring installing all new coolant hoses (24), water pump, tune up, and full Fabspeed headers and exhaust...just bad luck I guess. 1st crash in her in 10 years :( Thanks in advance! Chris
  12. How much? About 8 years ago it cost me about 15K...Porsche covered 1/2...
  13. Well I thought I was finished...just replaced all hoses Im the car, used the original spring clamps, and now have leaks at the 3-way hose. After a few days and 3 full warm up cycles/air bleed it started at 1 port (under pressure) AMD has now migrated to all 3. I replaced 2 ports with standard screw clamps...still leaks at very end of hose. Do I need to try a heavier built t-clamp? Porous aftermarket hose? It's funny this is the ONLY leak...and all 3 ports :( Thanks in advance!
  14. Hi guys...see pic (F.105-20 #21, 22). Anyone had any luck replacing these two? From under the car they are way up in there! I'm currently wrapping up a DIY of all 24 coolant hoses...thanks in advance!
  15. Oh ,just to clarify...mount is for Boxster, and from AutohausAZ
  16. Hi y'all, I hast got the new mount pressed in at the local shop, can you guys please confirm its correct. BOTH arrows are point up to the notch, but the pelican part insert (on right in pic) looks way different on the center metal shape. And the plastic spacers, just trim to fit? Thanks in advance! Chris
  17. Thanks! Question answered. As many times as I have been on Pelican Parts, I missed it somehow :)
  18. Replace/rebuild all bushings/bearings /axles while you have everything apart...oh, dont torque the control arms unless weight is on the car...I did all 4 corners on mine a few years ago...its a job
  19. Does anyone have any advice on hose replacement. My car is a 2000 w/ 174K. I am about to replace the motor mounts, exhaust, and water pump and figured...what the heck... I also have been told to use silicone hoses as they will last forever. Do they even make them for a Boxster? Thanks in advance! Chris
  20. Has anyone had any experience using these from Pelican Parts? I have heard controversy over replacing "just" the liquid filled mount ($60) and having to remove the 12mm main hex nut vs the entire mount/bracket assy ($300+). Thanks in advance...
  21. Looks exactly what mine did last week...water pump failure. And noises from the pulley area? I could not locate my leak, but noticed the water pump pulley was against the housing. I pulled the belt and...pulley shaft is super loose...
  22. 174K miles. New engine at 95K...Too many repairs to list...
  23. WOW! I have an 00 w/171K and have had many, problems. I have basically rebuilt the car minus the tranny and rack, I dont even drive it that hard. Sounds like you have a keeper! Chris
