  1. I'm looking to buy some seats from a guy for my C2 996. My car has the light gray (Graphite Gray Leather Seats) leather seats and looking to replace them. I wanted to make sure these matched first. Is there anyway to tell by a code or tag on the seats? If so, where should I have him look and what is the color code for Graphite Gray? Thanks, Russ
  2. I wouldn't do it. A C4 is heavier (4WD). So, the spring rates and shock damping is different. OK! Thank You. I will pass on this one then. Russ
  3. 996 C4 Pss9's on a 996 C2? Will it work? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey great people who have all the answers. I have found a set a new Pss9's that were purchased for a C4. The deal is good and the guy swears they will perfectly fit a C2 with no problems. Is this true? If not is there an easy way to make it work?
  4. Hello, I want to buy a set of coilovers for my 2001 C2 996. I never use it on the track and want the coilovers for lowering the car and to dial in some front rake, and give a proper ride with the car. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the K sport coilovers or knowledge. I know that the Pss9's and H&R are very respected brands and work well, However this is my 2nd car and I do not want to invest more than I need for something that is for looks foremost. All help and comments will be helpful. Russ
  5. Where would the best place be to find a true PSE exhaust someone is selling used? Have any idea's or links? Thanks, Russ
  6. Thank you for the fast responce. Hey Loren, when doing the PSE Mod to the 3.6 cans for a 01 996. What size pipe should I use? Does it sound exactly like the PSE's in bypass mode? Russ
  7. Hey people. I've found a set of 3.6 cans to buy and do the PSE mod to them. The one's I found have came off a 06 C2 car. Will they fit on a 01 C2?
  8. I posted this thread on another forum and a guy there said his car came out the same way. (Lower in the Rear) He said that the installer forgot to remove the rubber bushings in the front when the springs were installed and that the spacers were a good quarter on an inch thick. After that he said it fixed the problem. Has anyone heard of this and did I miss something with the install. If so, tell me where these rubber bushings are and how to get to them.
  9. That looks pretty cool. Good idea there. About the tint, don't go to light. Being that you car is black, your tint will look lighter anyway because it will be right next to Black...showing the clear diff in darkness. For example, my car is grey...therefore the grayish black tint looks kind of dark, where on your car it want look as dark because your car is black. Also you car has the light gray int, and that always makes tint look lighter. I'm afraid if you go with the 50% it will not look tinted at all. IMO. Russ
  10. These are the ones I have. They have Porsche on all the letters and they come this way. I did get them on Ebay and paid around $120 for them shipped. I looked on Ebay and did not see the one's I have on there right now. Russ http://www.revozport.com/webpics/PORSCHE/9...%20CNC%20MT.jpg
  11. A guy on the for sale forum has a set of HR Coilovers for sale with the strut assem's, gt3 sway bars and adj drop links for the front and rear. My car is an 01 Cab. I installed Cham[pion Springs only with the factory shocks to lower the car for looks. The ride does not bother me but the rear sits a good quarter of an inch lower than the front. Is that Normal? I really hate that look. I would like the car to have more of a rake where the front is a little lower than the rear.. So my questions are. 1. Will I be able to acheive a lower front than rear with these coilovers? 2. Will the ride be harsher than Springs Only on Factory Shocks? Thank You, Russ
  12. Man your car looks great! I like your choice of wheels. Also, What rear spoiler is that? Where did you pick it up? Thanks, Russ
  13. The Glass is nice. The size is so small was my problem, Along with being specialy made for a car that did not come with a glass window, reflects a premium price. Good luck, at the end of the day, there all going to look nice. Russ
  14. I purchased my top from tops on line and was very happy with the quality. I also got the Charcoal plastic tinted window in the back at that time. The tint is about 20%. Really looks great if you want to tint the rest of your car out. The installer did show me on my factory Oem Porsche top some extra bands of fabric that ran across the top that the tops on line one did not have. He said it was extra support of the canvas. I really can't tell a difference any way at all. Figure about $750-$850 for installation. I called some shops and told them I had my own top and how much would they charge to install. It was cheaper this way, as most of the installers would mark up the top to make some extra coin. Hope this helps you. Good luck! Russ
  15. I had the wheels custom made for the car. I don't think they require Rings. The Hunter Machine does not require rings to measure the rims and that is were the measurments are from. In regards to the Numbers there all thousands of an inch. So again, are some of these higher than tolerance on 3 piece rims should be? Also in regards to the weighs of the wheels the fronts are 24lbs for 19' inch and the rears are 27. Thanks, Russ
  16. I just bought a new set of DCR 19" 3 piece forged rims. I had Goodyear F1-GS-D3 tires mounted and balanced and installed. I drove the car off the lot and it starts shaking around 40 MPH and never stops. There is no sweet spot speed. I take it back and the tech says he will re-road force them again. After doing them again he said that the front driver side rim was high on Lateral Rim Run out. He said the inside was 0013 and the outside was 0035. The Radial Run out was 20 inside and 41 outside. The Passenger side front was also not that great. Lateral Inside was 0010 and the outside was 22. The Radial Runout inside was 0015 and 0030 outside. Does anyone know what tolerance of Lateral and Radial Run out is acceptable on quality 3pcs forged wheels. Right now I'm trying to get the rim issue resolved, then I will worry about the tires. Thank You, Russ
  17. A local guy here did the tint. His name is Jason and he use to do all of Lighting Mike's tinting here in charlotte. He pretty much now does all of Hendrick's BMW and Porsche cars. (Hendrick) charge you and sub it out to him. I paid him $100. He told me $75 and I told him that was not enough. I think Hendrick gets around $250 for one of these cars. If you want his info let me know or come by the store. The top is a German canvas copy of the OEM top. I bought it at www.topsonline.com It ran me around $600 for the top and another $750 to install. Good luck with the tint job and I saw you put the X74 suspension on the car. It looks great, come by and take for a ride to see how the new setup feels. Russ
  18. Hello all. I have had my 1st Porsche now for 3 months. In that time, I have put on a set of Champion lowering spring and DCR 19" inch 3 piece forged rims. My car also from the factory had the Row030 suspension. My 1st question is, does the rear of the car sit a little lower than the front? I ask because i can put 2 fingers stacked into the front fender and I can't in the rear fender. The rear is probally 1/4 of an inch closer to the tire. My 2nd question is, should I remove the rear difuser's or leave them on? I do plan on putting the gt3 front bumper on the car in the future. Any input would be helpfull. Russ
  19. Hey Skipp, it's Russ from down at Busbin in Charlotte. I had my windows tinted with 35% all around. I replaced my top with a new one and the rear window is tinted plastic and is around 15 to 20%. Guy's when you replace your 2001 and older tops, this is your chance to get the tinted plastic. I think the tint looks great and adds to the car. I also just put on 3 piece 19" DCR Wheels. It's starting to look right. Come by and see me when you around. Hey, do you have one of the durametric software readers to turn off lights and run data test on our P-Cars? Russ
