  1. I would try and adjust your linkage first. If you have all original parts and have not replace shifter to a short throw you can purchase the adjuster tool from Sunset.
  2. Become a contributing member and check out the TSB. I installed a Tonneau cover last July and would recommend only if you primarily drive alone and garage. Let me know if I can assist with install. I have extra bits and can mail to you at no charge (price of stamp).
  3. I looked high and low thru my Sunset receipts and couldn't locate it. Call Jeff at Sunset and he'll set you up. My memory says it was very affordable, a $125 or so.
  4. I agree with geoff, place an ionizer air cleaner in overnight. Removes smoke smell forever.
  5. I have the Sumitomo HTR Z III and I highly recommend them.
  6. I think with fault code 33 just counts. I ordered a new infrared sensor from Sunset and the counter stopped advancing and alarm acted and worked normal again. Let me know if you decide to install a new one. I did a dyi 5 months back on MY98 and never posted the replacement procedure.
  7. tepekoyl Worth every penny! You have a PM!
  8. If the car is running OK other than the CEL, let it go and see if engine computer doesn't adapt.
  9. I made my own for MY98 Boxster and it worked for me. See link to url HERE You are welcome to borrow it.
  10. If you replace the oil filler pipe (part #19) be careful not to put stress on part #15. The ears that hold it to the engine block break easily. I found out the hard way and had to replace it as well.
  11. I would purchase the Bentley Manual. It sells for under $80 US. You can possibly get a used one in good condition for less. I replaced my RMS and clutch last winter and had to drop the exhaust and tranny to get to them. The Bentley manual was a must. Might try searching this web site. All the best!
  12. I would upgrade the sound system, de-snorkel the air intake, deamber the front, side and rear lights and install the 4 stalk OBC.
  13. I replaced all 4 of mine over a year ago and got the same codes. It came on while engine was warm and at freeway speed and eventually after several drive cycles the light would go out. The time between CEL's gradually increased and when it came on it would gradually go out after fewer and fewer drive cycles. Eventually CEL went out and stayed out and I haven't had one in over 3 months and over 3,000 miles.
  14. I made one for my 98 Boxster. Not sure about 996 but believe they are identical. You are welcome to borrow it. Worked for me.
  15. Hi Trieullionaire, Tell us more about the Aero Body Kit, Where did you purchase? How much? How about the install. Looks great!
  16. The door sills on eBay are offered by Harvey the same gentleman that sells the upgraded rear speaker kit. Excellent product, very reasonably priced, recommend highly!
  17. Hi Peer, Put your top in service position, remove your rear storage compartment and then your engine cover and check your engine compartment's drain tubes. It sounds like you have water in the collection trough that collects water and funnels it to the drain tubes. Search this site and you will find lots of information on drain tubes. Good luck!
  18. It sounds like a faulty electrical connection to the alarm horn or a bad horn. You can take a 9 volt DC battery and check your horn. I replaced mine from Sunset for under $25 plus shiping from Oregon. Good luck!
  19. Is it possible that a previous owner had the steering wheel off and re-installed incorrectly? Do you have the OBC (on-board computer) turned on and a fourth stalk to operate it. When you add the OBC you have to remove the steering wheel. Just a thought.
  20. Approaching 9 months and NO air bag light!
