I run 295/30/18 (Contact 2's) on 18x11 (63mm offset) on my Mk1 GT3... I have about 1.5mm gap between the tyre and guard lip with the suspension compressed. My rear guards are not rolled either.
Any wider tyre would require guard rolling and you would have to watch the rear suspension cross member, which I have around 5mm clearance.

Hi All,
I'm looking at installing a short shift kit in my 996 Mk1 GT3. I've been looking at the new complete assembly, part no. 997.424.983.00.
However, I was just looking at the TE Equipment package re the short shifts and it says all models except GT3, GT3 and GT3 RS.
Has anyone fitted this new kit to a Mk1 GT3?
Thanks,
Jason

Item 3 is an upgraded part.
The part number is: 997.803.231.00 Height adjustment
Thankyou for that Loren. Any idea on approximate cost?

Hi All,
Would anyone have the part number and approx cost of the Seat Belt height adjusting unit for a 996 Mk1 GT3. (Driver's side RHD). The seat belt bolts to this item, the little clip which you press to adjust the height is broken on mine. Interior colour is black (with red belts).
Thanks,
Jason

Hi All,
I've been reading a lot about retrofitting cruise control and the OBC hack.
I understand that the Mk1 GT3 runs the 5.2.2 DME. Can you retrofit cruise control to this DME? I've searched the wiring diagrams for the car, and nothing comes up for it the 5.2.2 DME.
Thanks,
Jason
996 mk1 gt3 coolant tank
in 996 Series Part Number Requests
Posted
Hi all,
Looks like its time to change my coolant tank in my mk1 gt3.
I'm having trouble confirming the right part number. Is it the same as the mk2 996 gt3's and the 997?
I'm also thinking about replacing the level sensor and cap too, so those part numbers would be useful also.
While I have the coolant out, is there any other hose I should change?
Also, is the new Porsche pink coolant compatible with the older green/yellow coolant?
Thanks,
Jason
