  1. Didn't all happen at once no,brake lights went out few weeks back, alarm issue just happened few days ago,but yeah its alot of issues for sure...Obviously the power isn't to the brakelight or it would light the bulb...I'll have to check the switch under the brake pedal then, good idea...is that where its at,hard to get out?Guess I'll find out,but fuse is good for sure...I ahd read somewhere the brake switch has a built in safety in it that could be reset, almost a second fuse type deal, but not exactly, but reset by battery cables off/on for a while...however that didn't work... My other issue is still can't use my remote to unlock/lock the car, which is what I depend on since the door lock cyclinder was damaged(manual)...Thats something I will have to get the dealership to do at some point as I will need a new cylinder keyed alike and all...I guess Noone said its cheap to drive a Porsche...lol Isn't that how the saying goes..."Don't drive a Porsche if you can't afford to fix one"....so true/...Good cars though really.its no 911 but I still like the overall drive of a Boxster,Good stuff
  2. First of Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help, 97' Boxster While back my brake bulb was out so I went in to change it,didn't realize how touchy the light assembly was,and when I was puting the new bulb in I somehow touched something metal across thje metal wire work on the inside of the fixture...I hyad never seen a light like this and didn't realize I should have disconnected the bettery cable first probably....or at least been a little more careful,so anyways Obviously both sides of the brakelight blew out then, bulbs were good, fuse was good, just nothing, driving lights are fine...turns signals fine...just when I hit the pedal,no brake lights...(Not Good)I really need to fix this quick,I noticed I read somewhere it may have setoff a relay in line,a safety of some sort, but I took the battery cables off for a long time and that did not reset it...I'm lost and Obviously don't want to hitup a dealership... Also has another problem, where I ahd left the car sit and not drove it for over a week, and when I did get back into it it wouldn't unl;ock by remote, and my drivers manual lock didn't aork already previous...so i had a serious problem, had my girl climb through the conv top and put the key in ignition and pop open the door....car opened, but alarm wouldn't disengage, tried a new battery(remote),wasn't the problem, read about the 15amp fuse in the unit under the seat and it had shot, replaced it and finally at least windows would roll down, but still the doors won't lock, alarm won't come on/off...when I turn the key on the fog lights auto come on no matter what....Remote still won't pop the rear trunk,so I'm still having problems...and suggestions,I know the reset procedure for the safety over ride,...Open door manually, put key in ignition to accessory, then it auto disengages the alarm and back to normal, but this isn't working as my drivers manual key lock is messed up...Dealership already said $800 for the new door lock/setup/labor..which I'm trying to avoid and why I have thus far...My local dealership is very dirty and known to rip you off in a heartbeat unfortunately...
