  1. I cleaned them with water, in the front. Anything special to be used? Could it be that simple? Any way to diagnose which sensor, to know for sure?
  2. Hello. I have a 2008 Cayenne Turbo. When driving at low speeds, in traffic, with enough distance on the front that only the first-level green lights are on, every 30 minutes or so, the two red-end diodes light up only, for about 2 seconds, on the front indicators. 75% of the time, this happens when a motorcycle passes me, at low speeds, on the right. 25% of the time, it seems totally random. This also happens when backing into my parking space at home (in this case, all four indicators do this). I think there may be a bad sensor in the front? I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say that the parktronic shows no errors. I have Durametric, but it does not yet read park assist for 2008 MY. How do I diagnose the problem, to not have to change out all sensors?
  3. Its on the fuel pump bucket assembly.
  4. At the alternator, at the cluster and at the battery. Also losses that much voltage when heated with a blow-dryer and tested on a bench. Like I said, I have narrowed it down to the alternator being the problem. Same thing on three other 996TTs. Just want everyones opinion on getting a 200amp alternator and seeing if anyone else has the problem.
  5. Actually, the only thing that was open, and that I knew would have it, as a local BMW dealer that opens until midnight (parts and service). They sell the exact same hose by the yard , as it is used in a 1995 3 series. Boght a yard (and cut the 6 inches I needed) and the clamps from them. Same exact hose, but says BMW on it ;)

  7. For a few months I have been posting about voltage drop in my car when warm. I have narrowed it down to the alternator losing voltage when warm. This is my third alternator, thinking the otehrs were bad. Four other local 996TTs of the same year have the same problem, and have even greater voltage loss. I think that the 150amp alternator that comes with this car isn't enough for said car's power draw (or they are all defective) and I am considering getting a custom 200amp alternator from Ohio Generator (they tear out the guts of the stock alternator and amp it up). All other cars I have seen, start up at 14.4 volts and settle to around 14.1 My Carrera 2 started at 14 and never dropped below 13.8. My 996TT starts at 13.8 and drops to 12.6-12.8 when in traffic, or 13 when warm and not in traffic. What are your thoughts?

Not sure why different senders or tanks use different calibrations, but it is nice to know i can pull the assembly out, disconnect it to look around, and even replace the pump without having to recalibrate. Gonna delve into this now Did not understand about "Let the engine run on the start motor for 10 seconds, with 4.0 - 4.5 Kg pressure the engine will run ( from the head )?" I assume you mean let it crank for 10 seconds and measure fuel pressure at the Schraeder valve in the engine bay and if it is around that, then my problem lies elsewhere? The thing is since the engine does start and then die, would it not use up what is in the line anyay?
  11. Hi. I replaced the pump back in July of last year, or thereabouts. What should the pressure be at key-on? Cannot check with the car started, because it will not stay running. I did try pricking the Schraeder valve and fuel flowed out, but did not squirt out. Seems like low pressure, but could be because it used up most of the line trying to run? I would like to check what was suggested above inside the fuel tank, but want to know if that would require a level-sender recalibration.
  12. Still no luck. Tried starting with MAF unplugged and same thing. Want to look inside tehe fule tank, but if I take out the level-indicastor, I will need a trip to the dealer to recalibrate it, wouldn't I?
  13. With a regular obdii scanner, no. Trying to get someone with a Durametric, which I may be able to this afternoon.
