  1. I just installed a new heated steering wheel on my 2013 Cayenne Diesel without a heated one. Now I found out the hard way that there are no wires on the clockspring for the heated connector. I was wondering if anyone has changed out a clockspring on a 2011 and newer Cayenne? I am not sure if the heated wheel simply needs 12V. So if I change out the clockspring, could I simply put 12V on the connector that goes to the heated connector?
  2. Thanks for the reply. I have an appointment with the dealer next Monday, so we will see.
  3. My driver side tail light is out, but only when the vehicle is turned on or running. When it is off, the both tail lights work. When locking the vehicle and unlocking, the tail lights work When on or running, the driver side tail light is out and when I brake, it is also out. What do you think? Does something need to be reprogarmmed at the dealer?
  4. I would leave the 21 for the summer and find some OEM 18s for some winter tires like Nokian etc. This is what I do. Most of the 21 are UHP or ultra high performance.
  5. Highly doubt it is the fuel pump. Mudman is right, it is probably the other coils.
  6. I wanted to add to this great thread. I changed my air filters yesterday on my 05 CTT. It is a little different that the S since the air pipes actually go down instead of across. So there are 2 pins that need to be rotated to the 12 o'clock position to remove the air box. After 2 hours of trying to get to the clamps, I decided to search the forums since I never saw these pins before and it looked logical that the air box must come apart by those pins. Anyway, look at the V6 instructions to learn how to remove those pins. It is the only way to change the filters on a CTT. Additional Instructions that Pertain to the CTT
  7. 08 and newer Cayenne S's also use a different oil filter too. I found out the hard way! I am pretty sure it is a different plug too. I think the 996 one is smaller.
  8. I have a similar "problem". In my 2008 CS, I originally had a Mobridge Audio, and now I finally had some time to swap it out with a Mobridge BT. Now I am getting the CD Changer not available message. But everything works OK. The BT and the iPod functions all seem to work. Looks like the CD Changer is not found, but the system did find a Phone. Everything worked without error with the Mobridge Audio. I found another thread PIWIS Link, where Berty987 says it may be easier to just leave it since it works. However that case dealt with a newer PCM and an older AMP. Andy, if you find someone local in NY, let me know.
  9. I have both a CS (wifes) and CTT (mine). Mudman is right, once you test drive the CTT, it is over. You will want it the CTT!
  10. In the US, Nav-TV has solutions for you. In Europe, I believe that it is www.Nav.tv
  11. Are you driving really hard? Even within spec, still seems to be alot of oil. My 2005 CTT burns about 1 qt for every 2K miles. My 2008 CS burns about 1.5 quarts per 2K miles.
  12. That is the sweet sound of the TURBO. As you hear that hum, you should see the boost gauge move higher. I love that humming!!
  13. Mine has been great too. I have had a very positive response from their technical support too, so I am sure that they will fix the problem.
  14. It may be expensive. The shades actually are "in" the doors, so I think you will need new door inside panels. You may just want to get the $5 suction cup baby shades and call it a day. Kids grow up quick.
  15. Yes, there is a Becker kit for about $25 dollars that will allow for an Aux input. There are simply settings that enable the Aux input. Do a search and you will find all the info you need.
  16. The buzz that is associated with your RPMs is definately attributed to your DVD installation. The RCA should work, but sometimes you need a filter for all of the inputs to the amp. That is typical alternator whine. The second noise coming from the wheel and connected to your ABS is different. I agree, I bet the the 19s are causing the issue there.
  17. You are very lucky, that you are OK. V rated tires are only good up to 149MPH. Tires are never to be driven past their rating. I do not think that Porsche allows V rated on 911s.
  18. My situation is close but not exact. I just bought a 05 Turbo, and my wife has a 08 S. The 08 S is newer and so far is holding its cost a bit. It is fast and has a new car warranty. But the Turbo (and this is not a Turbo S, since it is a 05) is really another beast. It is truly amazing and super fast. I own a 996, and in the past I have owned a 2 Mustangs, 1 C5 Corvette, and recently a 335i, and this Turbo can hold its own with any of them. Lastly, you should never buy a car with resale value in mind. You should love to drive the car. Porsche make alot of Cayenne S's, so the actual resale value of the S's will eventually be bad. The Turbo S's are very exclusive. Just my $0.02.
  19. I used Durametric. It is not too expensive and the enthusiast package allows for 3 Porsche VINs.
  20. I recently bought a 2005 CTT too. They are great! Mine used the 2004 DVD too. I do believe that all of the TSBs are here in RennTech. I would recommend that you become member and you will be able to get all the info about upgrades etc. With regard to the key, I would try to negotiate with the dealer for the second key. Some dealers (like mine) did the second key for free, but some charge hundreds of dollars to cut and reporgram. Actually, cutting the key is the easy part, but only a Porsche dealer can program the key. Good Luck!
  21. I need the trim pieces that are around the gauges. Specifically the trim pieces that run horizontal beneath the gauges. Thanks!!
  22. Hi Loren, Can you post the diagrams for removal of the Cayenne dash (2005 Cayenne Turbo). I would like to run some wires for an aftermarket bluetooth. I also need to replace a piece of plastic trim that is located under the right side of the gauges. Can you post the part numbers too? Thanks!
  23. Mostly likely coil packs. I had that happen too. Another thing that can happen is not getting the electrical connector snapped in all the way. After I changed the coils, I had a misfire too. Make sure that all of those connectors are "clicked" in.
  24. Just wanted to let all know that I got it to pass inspection. After driving it for about another 300 miles (a total of 1000 miles), the EVAP was finally complete. In that last 300 miles, I did get stuck in some bumper to bumper traffic, and the temp was in the 60s. Previously, the outside air temperature was <40. Not sure if this will help anyone else, but it worked for me. NY allows 1 to be not complete, so it finally passed. Thanks all
