I have a 2000 Boxster S with the premium sound package DSP, back speakers and Amp. I want to keep the CDR220 head unit and getting an ipod hookup. Read though some of the threads and people have replaced the weak amp with a blaupunkt THA 475 PnP amp which fits right where the original amp is (in front of battery in front trunk). I have been looking for the PnP adapter cables for the Porsche. Crutchfield and Car Stereo On line do not have them. I understand that I can just use the adapter cable to hookup the amp to the headunit and thread it through the firewall. Going through the firewall seems tricky from what I have read, but doable. Installation is extremely easy from I have read. One- do I have the concept correct? Two- where do I find the plug n play adapter for Porsche or can I use some other adapter cable set? I don't want to spend a fortune and want to keep the stock appearance of the interior. I am not replacing the speakers at this time. The Pnp THA 475 amp seems like an inexpensive solution. Suggestions?
