My odometer recently quit registering on my '97 993. Speedometer works. Where should I start looking? How is it removed?
Here's a DIY for it: http://p-car.com/diy/odometer/
I did it to my '97 993 6 months ago. The little gear inside melts and is not too hard to replace. The guy who sells the little gear in the diy is super nice and helped me step by step.

Alarm keeps going off
in 993, 993 TT Series
Posted
The alarm on my '97 993 Cab goes off intermittently. It all started after my last mechanic visit. He installed the ROW M030 sport suspension, completed an oil change, and engine bay cleaning. The hood was left open for a period of days as he worked on the suspension setup. When I picked up the car everything was fine, I just had to reenter the radio code (apparently the battery went dead had been recharged at the shop). The engine bay was also cleaned. Since then, the alarm will go off intermittently.
I have checked and reechecked all of the doors, trunk, and engine compartment lid to ensure that they are closed all the way. The problem went away for a week after I unplugged and reconnected the sensor on the rear engine bay latch. It has since returned with a vengeance. The alarm went off 3 times within a half hour on Wednesday and 3 times this morning at 5AM.
Please help...
