  1. I have a 2000 boxster 2.7 and it makes the same howl. I have had the car for 3 years now and it is disturbing the irregularity with which this sound appears. Sometimes with top up -not aleays. Sometimes top down-not always. Sometimes if I turn on the AC it goes- you get not always. I have asked numerous mechanics and one has given me a proper answwer. I believe it is a harmonic resonance from air intake. I am using a K and nfilter . But if you find out, I would love to know. I am having a problem with a horn sounding when brakes are applied or if you push on the steering wheel?
  2. I have noticed a similar clear fluid leaking from the same area. The fluid feels somewhat oily to the touch, but has little smell? I have no idea what this is if you find out . please post.
  3. I had the same fault code and it ended up being a faulty maf sensor. I had this replaced and the car is running great. paulo986
  4. I have a 2000 Boxster with 91,000 miles and it is in the shop at this very moment with one of the issues being this whine. I get it around 2800 rpm on occasion . Seems less with ac on. It sounds like it is comong from under the dash on the passenger side. It is really annoying kinda harmonic and stays in a narrow rpm range. If anyone knows what this is i would love to know. paulo986
