  1. That is normal. That means on hot rainy days, you have to put up with the hot defogger to clear your windshield? You'd have to manually cycle between A/C and hot defogger.
  2. I just got a 2005 Boxster (Tip). When I press the front defogger on, the A/C compressor turns on, fan setting goes to max, and only get hot air from the top vents even when I have the temp setting on Lo. Is this normal? Shouldn't I be able to adjust the temp setting?
  3. no more rubber plug for faux dipstick? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is it. 2005 had a rubber plug for where the dipstick would be. No plug on the 2006s I looked at. As a joke I was going to take the dipstick from my 986, remove the plug on a 987, put my dipstick in and take a picture. But the 2006s at my dealer had no plug. The picture below is a 2005 with the plug removed. Is it possible to use a 986 dipstick on in a 2005 Boxster via the plug? If so, can you leave the dipstick in at all times?
  4. It seems many of these places don't keep a lot this oil around. I went to 3 different Autozones and a Pep Boys around my area and only able to get a total of 5 quarts. I finally found one store (Strauss Auto Parts) that had a lot in stock (place was off the beaten path where it didn't have a lot of business). No matter where I went though, they all sold it for the same price $6.99 per quart.
