  1. Ironically, my OPC said I needed to buy a new PCM2 unit after I changed the battery which created a system error with the CD changer. I went home, disconnected the -tve terminal of the battery and re-connecting sorted it out (thanks Renntech). I now need to relaod the NAV disk, however the NAV CD i have is badly scratched so can't be read by the unit (or home computer). Since the 02 disks are obsolete I need to install the 04 versions which need the o/s update to v3.0. I've been back to the OPC today, and they've told me that they don't want to update the software in case the PCM2 unit fails - they'll quite happily sell me some new disks for £500 and install them though! Seeing as I purchased the car from them only 7 months ago, their approach to after-sales is appalling. I'll seek out another OPC to see if they will be more amenable.
  2. Thanks Nick!. This is a fantastic site, and having made use of the info herein a couple of times, I've happily signed up as a contributing member now. Do you know if v3.0 provides any additional functionality over v2.0?
  3. I have a 996 Carrera '03 UK model. I have the PCM2 with version 2.0 (using the main and trip button combination). My UK Navigation CD was damaged whilst trying to eject it from the CD player which stopped working (another long issue which involved me stripping the CD unit of the PCM back to the laser, and rebuilding it back up). I'm able to get my hands on a set of PCM CD's dated 2004, but they say I need to have PCM o/s 3.0 for them to work. Is it possible for the o/s to be updated from v2.0 to v3.0? Is a disk available? Thanks for any help you can give!
