  1. thank you very much. i guess you have confirmed my fears. i don't know how i can get it any better but I'll try. thanks, Alex
  2. thanks for the quick reply, codes 1324, 1324 sensor 2, 1539, 0160 sensor circuit and no activity detected in bank 2. i have had the head off a dozen times. i though from the first code 1324 that i had misaligned the chain. if so, i cannot tell. the car runs great and has great acceleration. i have already changed the vario solenoid with no luck.
  3. did 4,5,6, head gasket and cannot get engine light to shut off. the code said its a misfire on 4,5,6. been through the book and cannot get the light to stay off. i did the job 12k ago and car runs mint. inspection time is coming and it will not pass with the light on. my friend at the dealer says it could be a lot of things and porsche will just start changing things until its fixed. has anyone had this issue. thanks very much in advance. car is a 98 tip.
  4. My car had a fire in it, wipe down all interior pieces with vinegar, peel a full bag of oranges, leave the peels in the car. shut the car completely and wait a few days. sounds crazy but it worked great.
  5. thank so so much for the help. i have sent out a bunch of emails and will let you know the results.
  6. hi, went to put the cylinder head on my boxster today and the very first bolt pulled out of the case( at only 20 foot lbs.) has anyone helicoiled the case on this board? is there a special kit for the porsche. I have helicoiled many holes but never a head bolt, especially a 9 inch head bolt. any advice, tips, etc is appreciated.
  7. hi, i picked up a 98 boxster with a "blown motor" per the dealer so I got it cheap. After removal of the engine it is merely a head gasket. I sent the head to a machine shop to have it pressure checked, cut and the valves reseatted. I have been unable to find the specs and instructions to set the valves. This is my first vario cam experience so I am learning as I go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks :help:
  8. hi, i have removed my engine on my 98 boxster , hoping for only a blown head gasket. i was wondering if anyone knows of someone i could rent the necessary tools to remove the cylinder head. i would buy them but i 'm never planning to do this job again. thanks 98 boxster 85 930 76 tr-6 71 tvr
