  1. Thanks Guys! I contacted a tech at my local porsche dealer this afternoon and he was kind enough to give me the torque setting on that plug. In case anybody does that same thing in the future the proper torque setting is 44 ft lbs!

  3. While changing the oil on my 997 TT I removed a second [drain] plug from the oil pan near the sway bar[forward on the sump]. As soon as I removed this plug I new it was incorrect. Lurking behind that plug was a round metal pin inserted in a long spring with a little piston/plunger on the end. I replaced that assembly just as I had removed it. It looked like a pressure spring for an oil pump. Is there any critical re-assembly procedure on the spring and plunger or a specific torque setting for the plug?
