  1. Great I just ordered a set for the fronts, are they hard to get off?
  2. Thanks! Any recommended online vendor for someone living on the east coast?
  3. I guess one or both of the hydraulic lifts on my trunk are shot, does anyone know a part number for a 99 C4 Cab? Are they hard to remove?
  4. I replaced the drivers side window regulator about a month ago and I just noticed the window doesn't go all the way down, there is about an inch that sticks up. Is there an adjustment I make or did I install some wrong?
  5. I just got mine in as well, only took an hour. Still need to go through the manual and turn off some quirky features (head unit forgets the volume it was at when i turned off the car, plus if it really has speed sensitive volume then i need to disable that asap).
  6. I decided to go ahead and order the Hamburg since Crutchfield had it on sale and I found a coupon. the ipod cable I have is the "dumb" cable, no control from the head unit just power and audio. Not sure if it will display track info. I don't mind that since I found posts online indicating Blaupunkts ipod support can be buggy. I am excited everything will work off the same cables, no harness. I can take my time researching amps and speakers.
  7. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this head unit. I was looking for a replacement headunit that was plain looking with an aux/ipod input and a cd player. Didn't want to go with a full nav system since from my reading none are as good as a much cheaper garmin. The Blaupunkt is appealing since it lets me use the ipod controls, but will still display track info. Plus from what I have read I might be able to just drop this in without needing a wiring harness.
  8. I have a 99 C4 and the gas pedal was sticking a bit at the very beginning of its movement. I followed the directions here to fit it: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/show...amp;postcount=9 but I wanted to add some clarifications. My pedal was held down by two plastic tabs as well as the screw, it took a good pull to break it loose but the tabs don't seem to be the type that would break. My pedal also had a few openings on the bottom so I sprayed white lithium grease in that way instead of pulling back the boot. After putting it all back together it seems to work great, no more rough accelerations.
  9. My steering wheel squeaks when I turn it, it sounds like it is coming from somewhere in the dash. Could I be low on PS fluid?
  10. Thanks, that was just the help I needed, the regulator is in and the window drops perfectly. Now I just need to get the airbag light reset.
  11. I've got the door disassembled and I am ready to put in a new window regulator but I am a little confused. Do I just unbolt everything from the old one and put the new one in? Will the window drop when I disconnect everything and is there anything special I need to line up? It is a little hard to see everything since the inner metal frame is in front of everything.
  12. I have a 99 C4 with the turbo wheels and I am looking for a good set of all season tires. Any recommendations? I want to keep the stock size so my spedometer reads correctly.
  13. I recently got a 99 C4 cab and I'm not too happy with the audio (plus I miss my ipod). I was thinking of upgrading the head unit with a single din Alpine, a friend has one and has been happy with its Ipod connectivity. I see there are a specific brand of speakers everyone in the forum likes, as long as they are an easy fit that doesnt seem like an issue. I'll probably do without a sub since there is nowhere easy to put it. My only question is the amp, I saw mention that the cars have a small amp somewhere in the front. Is it worth reusing froma sound quality perspective? If not, do any other amps fit in the spot it is in? It would be nice not to lose any of my already small trunk space. BTW forum has already been a big help, since joining I did the 30k mile service, fixed the reverse switch and installed a short shifter. Next up is the stereo and fixing the window drop.
  14. I couldn't feel any extra insert when I checked back there. It seems the extra support is built into the top pad of the seat back itself.
  15. I have a 99 C4 with opwer seats and from the option codes what appears to be a firmer lumbar insert (not power lumbar). This insert is killing my back, it pushes my mid-back out, is it possible to take the seat apart and remove it?
  16. It is light #1, out of curiosity why is that light normally on?
  17. Thanks I will have a look this weekend. I have power seats w/o a lumbar control, is there any way to lessen the amount of lumbar support, it is tough to get my upper back against the seat comfortably
  18. I just got a 1999 C4 cab, this forum was really helpful in deciding the quirks the car had would be fixable and worth the trouble. So far I've got the reverse position switch an oil change and topping off coolant (hopefully, some of the stories here made me nervous) on my list. I do have one weird problem, the engine bay open light comes on when the car is first started but eventually goes off. I searched but couldn't find anything about this. Is this a big problem or something I can adjust myself?
