Check the micro switches on the spoiler linkage to see if they have come loose or unplugged
-
Before throwing money at it, put the stock chip back in and see what happens
Of course the V-Chip guy isn't going to blame the chip
-
If someone has been in the doors and the rain shield is not fully sealed to the door, it will allow water to enter also

RUF is an aftermarket manufacturer, everything should have a RUF marking and look like it was added on

Why are you replacing the head gasket? oil in the coolant?
These cars have a problem with the oil cooler seals leaking oil in to the cooling system and you would think you have a head gasket problem
I have never looked at the Haynes I have the factory manuls
Is it a turbo, NA or S ?
-
Here is the trouble shooting for these codes, you must disturbed something while you did your work
-
An old bulletin says to clean the connectors dry and apply stabalant 22 on the connectors
-
As with any trans diagnosis, check fluid level first

The torque multiplier works better, then you are not lugging a 4 foot torque wrench around and you can use an existing 1/2 drive torque wrench.
Stahlwille makes a torque multiplier 1/2" in 3/4 " out . 169 ft lbs in will produce 590 ft lbs out
Sells for $1500.00

There are enthusiast kits that have the round or the OBD2 plug. These kits only work with 3 VIN numbers
Then there is a pro kit, it has the round and OBD2 plugs. Unlimited VINs
The racing kit has the round, OBD2 and the factory race car plug.

I would check the ignition switch

Just my honest opinion, all I can say i can say is lets talk in 15 years

If you raise the idle slightly does the vibration get better?
If yes then the mounts are toast
-
I have attached 2 bulletins, 1 is for the old style mounts and the other one is for the new style mount
Usually the balance being out of time is really felt at about 3200 rpm
-
The motor mounts are hydraulic and collapse, this causes a vibration at idle.
If you raise the idle a little does the vibration go away?
-
the 993 was the last good Porsche made, keep it and a low maint. (jap) daily driver
-
See if your alt. will spin, seen them lock up and stop engine
The timing belt turns the water pump so it should not be overheating, unless the fans are not coming on
-
A quart in 1000 miles is no big deal on an aircooled
88s had a valve guide problem from new, the 89s not so much
I have seen top ends go to 180,000 or so and bottom ends go to 350,000
-
My 2 cents, the last good 911 was the 993
When they went to the 996/986 with the mass production, the quality of the brand took a big nose dive
-
Usually this is caused by spark arcing from the boot to the engine
But you swapped the plugs, so check for acing from the rear coil
-
Is this original a 944 turbo? or did you add the turbo?
If so it should have the solid clutch and not the rubber hub clutch
-
Are you sure the head gasket is blown?
These cars are known for the oil cooler seals leaking and oil getting in the coolant
-
