  1. I presume you don't have a mobridge or dennison IPOD unit installed since you didn't mention it. My uninformed guess is that it might be a MOST connection. I say this because I have gotten the exact same messages on my 06 PCM2.1 and I believe it was related to a MOST connection. The PCM turned on but no sound and the error msg was displayed. After the first message, i tried re-seating the MOST optic cables that went to a dennison unit. that fixed it for a while and the messages disappeared. They reappeared several months later so I took the dennison unit out and all has been perfect ever since. Had to be the MOST connections. My error message was identical to yours.

  2. like the OP, i was getting PCM system errors and there would be no sound even though the PCM came on. I have on 06 with a OEM Nav system, denison and tooki installed. All have been in the MOST loop for 2 years and have worked fine. Then the intermitent errors and no sound and it almost always occurred as I got in the car to drive home from work. Morning was generally Ok (but not always), but afternoon, always a dead system.

    I pulled the plastic shroud off (as above) for the Nav and denison and accessed the amp. I pulled off the fiber connectors and reseated each in their respective device receptacles. I also started keeping the PCM on all the time rather than turning it off from time to time (PCM trigger signal to turn amp on?)

    So all is working fine now (I'm probably jinxing myself). Not sure which 'fix' worked, probably the connector check.

  3. Pushing this back to the top. I had the local dealer install the 2010 nav disks for my 06 C2S 2.1PCM today.

    The cost was $275.08 for the disks and labor, less than list price of $299 (which I thought was gonna be for just the disks, plus labor). Gotta be the best OEM deal I've ever gotten...

    Porsche is offering a 20% discount on parts thru the end of March. Go to the porsche website, search for your dealer and look for the discount coupon. You have to fill out a few lines and your done. The parts guy did it for me. He said it's good for OEM and Tequipment - and hardly anyone is using it (or probably knows about it...)

    As for the maps, they are definitely updated. The cow pasture I usually drive on to access north Austin (AKA the 4-6 lane I45/130 toll road) has now magically appeared to the delight of the resident cows. I also saw gas station icons. No time to investigate further.

    Yes, I know it's not a garman, tom-tom or even the nav on my iphone, but I like the updates and I'm definitely happy with the price.

  4. Hi, anyone managed to get a Nokia N95 phonebook to operate with a Tooki, I can push the contacts to the Tooki but when I lock and leave the car on return the phone book has been forgotten. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

    that's the way they all work. the phone book is retained in the phone, not the PCM. so it has to reload everytime you turn on the car. minor inconvenience given the tooki's utility

    I am giving serious consideration to buying nav tv bt and i pod kit for my c2s.

    I live in the North Alabama area and need to find a qualified installer. I am willing to go as far as Atlanta to get the job done right.

    I would appreciate any recommendations.

  6. Actually, I may move it to the steering wheel housing - i like the OEM type look.

    I did investigate how the housing was assembled. Two things stopped me for the moment. 1. i don't know how much room is underneath the housing; e.g, is there enough room to mount the nav-tv mic since it's about 1/2 inch high. 2. there's been some discussion on the location that gives the best audio to the person on the other end. Supposedly the overhead position is better but i don't know that for a fact.

    the instructions for the navtv mic indicate that they reccommend install near the overhead console. i'd prefer the OEM location

  7. electrical wiring for CD player on a LHD car is tucked under the carpeting in the trunk. Remove the plastic cowing over the area where the Nav or CD player is usually mounted and then peel back the carpet a little where the bulhead meets the fender. It's probably on the passenger side- it's that way on the US cars. It's a short wiring harness with a plug at the end that isn't plugged into anything (since you don't have the CD player)

    after you remove the carpet piece, remove the two torx bolts holding the leathette side pieces. Pull up and straight up and out. A good firm tug will do it.

  9. tooki pic. Ha! that's the one thing I forgot to take a pic of. It's a plastic box about 3X7X1.

    Wiring couldn't be simpler. They supply a power harness that has connectors that match the PCM. Disconnect the plug from the PCM, plug that end into the matching tooki female connector and then plug the other end of the harness into the PCM. Some wires come off the harness and then that plug goes into the tooki/ no cutting, no splicing, no soldering,

  10. Installed the tooki today. Works like a charm. my address book contains about 60 entries and i had access to all. Signal was clear on both sides of the conversation. Very, very pleased. Use the PCM buttons to dial, the call/haang-up buttons to make and end calls. All intergated and you almost wouldn't know you were using Bluetooth

    Add these notes to TMC's install instructions

    (ps... there are NO install instructions with the unit)

    Carpet piece Torx 27

    Leatherette trim panels Torx 20

    Locking bolt on passenger side 7mm

    The 1/4 turn locking 'bolts' are VERY easy to turn with a 5mm hex wrench. Like 1 ftlb easy, so just give them a light twist. NOTE: the upper one on the drivers side is tough to get to. You kinda do it by feel using a 5mm allen wrench. (the lower dashboard trim is in the way. But I got it done on the first try.

    Don't forget the 7mm locking bolt on the pass side.

    So what stumped me? It was the fiber connector supplied by Nav-TV. The one fiber cable comes pre-made with a connector on the end to plug into the tooki. You have to insert one of the cables from the car into this connector. Well it's a little different and took me 10 minutes to figure out. Usually the fiber connectors have a small blue pin you pull out. This one is actually a two-piece connector. On one side of the connector is a small piece of plastic. Slip a very small screwdriver in between the main housing and the piece of plastic. That will release the inner 'barrel' so you can insert the fiber cable. Low an behold, there is the little blue "T" pin,

    I placed the Tooki directly behind the PCM. There is a narrow gap between the rear-most bracket where it fits perfectly. I'd added some velco to keep it from rattling. Just make sure all the cabling is out of the way. There is just enough room to fit it.

    Mic: The mic was placed by the sunroof console. A constant pain for me is running any wire along the upper windshield without it falling down all the time. This time I cut some of those styrofoam peanuts in half and wedged them in; works great.
