  1. Thank you for the CR-210 info - I have added it to the FAQ here. For your code try 9008 or 9006 wow, thanks for posting so quickly Loren. Unfortunately, 9006 and 9008 didn't work... I threw in 9010 just for giggles and no go as well. hey Loren, so was my actual number 9008 or 9006? The programs response to your serial number was 9008. But history has told us that the program is sometimes off by 2 numbers. More recently we have see it be off a few numbers. Thank you again Loren, so far I've tried 9004, 9006, 9008, 9010, 9012...and have been locked out with "wait" once, but if I leave the key on for an hour, it goes away and I get to try again. One more try and it's another hour, but maybe I'll go for 9014 :) Is it ever off by ones instead of twos?

  3. Try 1161 or 1159 Thanks for the quick reply but neither of those worked - any other suggestions? i had the same issue...looks like we fall into that unlucky 5%. It didn't work out for me, but maybe you could try calling the dealer?

  6. Now this happened to me as well! I've been dying to post my serial and info in order to try to get a code, but just couldn't find a way to get it. Iit seemed much harder to find info on how to find the serial on the CR-210 without yanking the radio out, as opposed to the other models... I finally did and here is the info on how to retrieve the model and serial: "For the CR-210: To get serial #, press tone, then 8&0 simultaneously. "Becker" appears. Press station up arrow on right. "PR-VERS" appears. Press one of numbered buttons below display, directly below the LCD arrowheads (try a few). The model number will appear. Press station up arrow on right. "SERIAL N" will appear. Press the numbered button again. The serial number will appear. NOTE: When you get the number from your friendly dealer, (he gave me mine free) and you enter it in place of C O D E, the first number will blink as if your number is wrong. Press the station up arrow on the right to go to a station. Voila!" Hope this helps others out. Here's my info: Cr-210 Becker model: R 1996 Serial Number: V5004262 thank you very much for any help. Joe
  7. by the way, the cables are not smooth either, they're slightly textured with a criss cross pattern, if that helps anything
  8. Okay, so I've finally had a chance to try to get those cables out. I opened the clamshell and pulled the u clips off of each side where the cables meet the top motor. The problem is that I can't get the cable out....they pull back, but the speedometer part in the center of each stays attached. Not sure what to do now.
  9. thanks for your reply, after reading through other posts again, I've learned how to put the cover in the "service" position in order to see underneath, but I can't seem to locate the cables to see whether they're smooth or bumpy etc. I did notice that I had the newer white plastic ball on both sides, but that was about it so far. I've also tried to raise the top again just for a second to try to give it more room underneath and noticed that the side that is lagging is not raising at all - not even moving. Don't know if that helps at all.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and to even owning a Boxster (so excited). I have a 97 and the reason that I'm posting is that I just started having problems with the top. It has worked flawlessly through it's cycles - for the few months that I've owned it anyway - until now. The issue: when attempting to raise the top up now, the cover will open just fine, but then only one side of the top begins to ascend with the other not budging at all. The first time I did it, it raised until I heard a pop and when i jumped in my seat and looked back, it was cock-eyed. I immediately put it back down and have now tried a few times to raise it again, without letting it get to the point of making that popping noise again. As soon as it pauses, I stop it and put it back down. I've peeked in there when it is raised slightly, but don't see anything that jumps out at me (though I don't know if I'd know to be honest). Anyway, any and all help would be wonderful. thanks, Joe
