  1. I remember reading that the new Boxsters had a different (less prone to fouling) design than the early Boxsters. I think Loren actually posted diagrams of the two different types of MAF's. It's possible that the 996 MAF is of the newer design type. It's worth looking into. What year is the 996 that the 3.4 came from? Regards, Maurice. The 996 was a 99'. My boxster is an 02'
  2. Does anyone know if I should be using the 996 MAF because I did the engine swap?
  3. Sorry forgot to mention the fault codes. It's reporting P1128 and P1130. I checked into this and it's saying that it's running lean and possible leak somewhere. I also searched through the engine swap posts and couldn't find anything similar. These codes were the same before and after the Softtronic conversion. I thought that the conversion would get rid of it but it didn't.
  4. I did an engine swap to a 3.4L (from a 99') after my 2002' 2.7 died. After the mechanical was done, it drives fine, but the Check Engine Light came on. I then got the softronic software to flash my DME and it drives better, but the CEL still won't go away. I used the intake, injectors, and MAF from my boxster. Does anyone know if I should be using the ones from the 996 and is it possible? Does anyone else know what I can do to get rid of the CEL?
  5. Can anyone tell me if the 3.6L engine have the common IMS and Cylinder Head problems like the earlier boxster engines? Does the the 3.4L have these problems? Thanks.
  6. I'm considering putting a 3.6L engine from a 2002 C2 into a base 2002 Boxster. Can someone tell me if this is a simple swap and help with the questions below: 1) Do I need a new DME or can I use the same one I have. 2) Do I need to modify the headers? If I do, can I use the headers from the C2 instead? 3) Do I need to modify the engine mount? 4) Do I need to do anything with the E-gas? Does the 02' Boxster have e-gas? Thanks in advance.
