  1. Mine doesn't make any noise when the light turns on and leveling.
  2. My 2002 C4 cab has the plate installed from factory. Later I found out the plate blocks the center jack point. So be aware you might not able to jack the rear up by using a floor jack as descript in the DIY section.
  3. I had the same problem when my C4 battery was about 3 years old. Once a wihile, after the car started, not just the clock, also the trip computer reset everything to zero. Other than that, battery worked without any problem and the car ran fine. I replaced the battery after 4 years without warranty and the problem went away since then.
  4. I would think that the maximum height for a jack stand is more a function of how high your jack can lift the car. The higher your jack can lift the car, the taller the jack stand you can use. Orient, I have a question. My 996 C2 Cab/Tip has an aluminum plate under the engine sump - looks like a skid plate. It limits access to the rear of engine jacking point. Has anyone seen one of these? I'm new to these cars so comments help would be appreciated. Yes, that is a skid plate, and should be removed before you lift on the engine. I also found my C4 also has the engine protect plate installed. It is blocking the engine sump jack point. The plate came standard for my 02 C4 Cab.
  5. Any information about DVD base NAV? 05 started to have DVD instead of CD.
  6. For the 2005 model year, the DVD NAV unit is a seperate unit located under the front passanger seat, I suggest first check to see is the unit still there?
  7. If I remember right, the 2004 NAV shares the CD slot with the CD player. 2005 is the first model year have the NAV DVD under the passenger seat.
  8. My 05 was prewired. I posted a smilier request few years ago. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...&hl=changer
  9. I did some searching and found everyone talks about the Hawk Dustless Pads. The only Hawk Pads I found for the Cayenne from Hawk are the: Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads Stopping Power: 3 Stars, Low Noise: 4 Stars, Low Dust: 4 Stars Hawk HPS Street Brake Pads Stopping Power: 4 Stars, Low Noise: 3 Stars, Low Dust: 3 Stars Hasw LTS Truck/SUV Pads Stopping Power: 4 Stars, Low Noise: 3 Stars, Low Dust: 3 Stars Has Hawk Dustless got replaced by one of the above? Anyone has experience or recommand of these pads for a heavy 5000+ pounds Cayenne? Thanks.
  10. I am trying to order set of front pads for my 2005 Cayenne S from tirerack.com. Is my front disc 330mm or 350mm? Thanks.
  11. I used a small block of wood with a drill 2" hole in the middle. I place it undernead the bolt with big round silver washer without touching the bolt. So far so good, never had any problem.
  12. If without help from Loren and other guys here, I properly won't keep my Porsche cars as my daily and have my Toyota as a backup. Overall, for just a little maintenance with help from here, my Porsches are as reliably as my Toyota. I have no more fear to own a highend German vehicle. Thanks Renntech.
  13. What model year is your Cayenne? Has it received any updates from the dealer?
  14. I was also worry about the reliability of the Porsche so I had a new Acura TL (6 years ago) as my extra vehicle. End up my Porsche has less issue and more reliable. Honda & Acura should be a brand name Japanese build, but I found out most 6 cylinders carry the same components as the 4. The extra weight and power cause problems with front rotors and the transmission. It is a known issue over all the Honda forum and Honda has not corrected it when I sold my TL last year. Bottom line is the known problem issues of the 996 like the cooling tank or the RMS, compare to a $3000.00 Honda transmission, is nothing. Also only a small percentage of 996 owners have these problems. All the TL owners I meet have front rotor issues before 30K miles and half of them have transmission problem.
  15. MP3 player support from Model Year 2006. 2005 has DVD maps but not MP3 support. I have checked with the dealer and it is not just a software update.
  16. I have purchased Porsche stuffs from them few times and never had any problem.
  17. I don't have the picture, but the clips are behind the little black holes on each side of the climate control. You have to use a small screwdriver and push in very hard.
  18. When I hookup my V1, I use the same power from the air suspension. Check you owner's manual, it one of the connection from the right side fuse box.
  19. The C4 has silver calipers & C2 has black, that's stock but can be changed afterward. The trunk of the C4 is much smaller. If you have the CD changer, the C4 is mounted horizotal and C2 mounts vertical. For the rear fenders, I think they are the same.
  20. I have done it many times with my CS with air suspension. I never put in the jack mode and never had any problem.
  21. That doesn't work for me. I know my Cayenne has the lastest update. Can other confirm?
  22. There is a picture of the SS Plate in my Cayenne's Registry http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...tem&CID=138
  23.
