  1. I also got mine last week and didn't have any of these issues. It works just like it suppose to be. I say perfect, and shoud have done it years ago. Greatest mod after the PSE.
  2. I have it on my C4, Cayenne, & the RX-7. I scheduled the installation before I took delivery of my 05 Cayenne and have it installed the next day after I had the car to have the protection asap. Like LVDell said, it is very personal. I love it and I will put it on my next car.
  3. Yeap, 4950 to be exact & still thinking what I'm going to do with it.
  4. Cool, I like the switch that matches the garage door opener, better than the factory homelink. IMO, I think this works better then the factory homelink option. Unlike other brand, the homelink in my Cayenne only works with the ignition switched on. I always forget to close the door first before turn off the engine & I have to switch ignition on again to close the garage door. After many months later, I only use the separate garage door opener in the car.
  5. Okay, Kim, your problem is resolved. Please let me know how it turn out. I think I will be in the market again to find some kind of harness that could life the hardtop. Any others have any suggestion?
  6. Few years ago I was planning to get a hardtop hoist for my cab. After did some research, a lot of people complainted most of the hardtop hoists create damage of the weather stripe for long time storage. On the other hand, a good electric unit with wire-remote could cost up to $500.00 or more. I found a lot of the tools company online that can sell a electric host that would lift few hundred pound for less than $100.00. All you need is something that could mount on the hardtop without damage the weather strip for long term. I still haven't figured out that part yet. If someone could build or come up with something that could hold the hardtop, all you need is this to mount at the garage ceiling. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Disp...temnumber=40765
  7. So the CDC-3 shouldn't work for the Cayenne. Thanks.
  8. Loren or anyone, My 05 Cayenne has prewired the optical line to the changer area. Do you have the part number for the CD Changer of 05 Cayenne? Do you know is the unit the same as a late model of 996? Someone is selling a CDC-3 from a 03 996 with p/n 996 645 221 00. Anyone knows would this unit work in a Cayenne? Do I need a mount bracket? Thanks in advance for any help. George
  9. If yours is the one with the amber lense. I might have an extra set you could have.
  10. I missed when they still available at Costco for $4.00/qt. After that, I got the M1 0W40 from ParkPlace Porsche @ www.parkplacetexas.com for $5.85 a qt. No sale tax and $6.00 flat shipping. I purchased 24 qts and average about $5.00/qt as I pickup local plus sale tax. I also found at least few WalMark & AutoZone stores still carry it in the BayArea for $5.00/qt.
  11. Any plan of above works for me. I am getting mine in a week. So we can meet. BTW how far is Morgan Hill? I don't mind driving far. I need to put some more milage to my Carrera. It's been sitting too long. I only had 400 miles on it since last August.
  12. Harry, I am also getting the B&M very soon. Let me know if you are going to do the DIY installation. I would like to drop by to help and watch if you don't mind. George
  13. There are two blue tabs of each side of the radio right around the corners of both removal keys. Push in each tab would release the key. Please tell us how's your new mp3 player from Becker.
  14. Started 2005, the DVD navigation has its own separate drive under the front passenger seat. You don't have to swap your music cd with the dvd navigation cd anymore. If you are going to order the 2006, you don't have to worry about this. Plus, the 2006 can play mp3 data files as well.
  15. More information for the power kit can be found here: http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0...=0&page=0#91758
  16. Harry, have you installed yours yet? Brandywine selling the B&M for $229.00 & $359.00 with the Evo Linkage. I am thinking should I get it from Brandywine or the place you bought.
  17. I called Sunset Porsche and they don't carry the B&M. The Porsche SSK is $419.00. I think I will give Brandywine a try later. I recall that the B&M have something call the EVO kit that has the metal bracket or something in the base instead of plastic. Could someone clarify this? Thanks.
  18. When will be the next work on car day? or Maybe have a group install in the BayArea? I will have mine order tomorrow.
  19. Does Porsche dealers carry it? I will try Sunset Porsche if they do.
  20. Wow, that's great information. I've been heard great thing about the BM Shifter & I am planning to get one. Where is the best source?
  21. I remember a DYI web site told me to use that connector's to power my V1.
  22. I have MY2002 Carrera and it is the 1st year with glass rear window for the Carrear Cab. I think the Boxster came the year after. The 1st yr Boxster with glass rear window should be 2003.
  23. I remember I saw some at the new AutoZone at Millbrae on El Camino has some for around $5.00 /qt. I think the filter is around $15.00 at the dealer.
  24. Some Walmark stores have it for $5.00 a qt. Costco in Bayarea used to have it for $4.00 a qt.
