Thanks everyone. I actually thought the blower was the smog pump. I have quite a bit about this car since. I do plan to eventually do the SSI heat exchangers.

What is approved for 1983 911SC ? I live in Virginia. All of Porsche's approved oils lists start with "As of model year 1984". For my air cooled cars I always ran straight 40W in the summer and 5W-30 in the winter. Thanks for the info! Do you recommend a brand of 40w? can it be 10w-40? synthetic? synthetic blend?

I am proud to say that I have finally put a 911 in my garage ! (after a 944 and S2 for sale by the way) I do not know what oil to use. Any recommendations? I live in northern VA. Thanks in advance!

Ah! My airbag light is on too. How can I disable the airbag light without actually fixing the airbag or sensors? so that in the end, the red exclamation is out? Thanks! :drive: -
