  1. My first thought was the water pump as well - recently had mine replaced Your friend is correct they would have to prove it if a problem occurred and they wanted to blame it on the flash but that is not to say Porsche won't do it. GIAC is a great company and would be my choice if I had the cash (flashed several Audi's with GIAC), you also need to find out if you can change programs yourself to stock and back using a tool they provide or a PC. Last where does your friend have it serviced now...has he ever talked with his SA about it? As Loren said all dealers are different...some have no problem with it others do, they will let you know if you ask them. JR
  2. Just noticed that...is it normal for the 6? Can't imagine it would normal for any motor, maybe normal for the cayenne though...
  3. The Turbos are largely responsible for the muffling - next would be secondary cats and then muffler. I am designing a set of straight pipes with no mufflers for my CT...my mechanic said he could pass it (PA) since the turbos qualify as mufflers. I am currently running a Supersprint muffler and it sounds pretty good... JR
  4. Read the manual and do not destroy your transmission!! There is a key under the lower center compartment to unlock the park mode when there is no power for this very reason. JR
  5. I always have to pull mine out twice or pull it all the way out and hold for a few seconds to get the light off... JR
  6. For that price I would purchase the mObridge unit - it charges the iPod and allows control through the pcm and wheel. JR
  7. Agreed - recently had my mechanic install a supersprint muffler and he said it sounded much better without any muffler...I am designing a set of straight pipes for it now... JR
  8. Yeah I have been trying to figure that one out since I got my CT last year and still have not found a way...always shows avg speed :cursing: JR
  9. I have been trying to install mine for months - supposedly you just pull off the trim surround and there are 2 clips, 1 per side, on the ac unit that you need to unclip then pull the ac unit and there are 2 screws holding the tray in. If you have any luck post back - if not can anyone clarify this for us!! JR
  10. Not the fan then - only stops when hitting off and starts at the first click on...
  11. Finally found this post - I am having the exact same issue...I just need to do some of the test below to be 100% Did you ever figure this one out? I am going to attempt to figure this out and can use any info you found so far... JR
  12. If the sensors where missing wouldn't it show it the computer display? The option for tire pressure unit is there whether you have tpms or not at least that is the case with my 04 turbo. JR
  13. Got this in a email today from mObridge regarding their bluetooth: "For Porsche vehicles your vehicle must contain the PCM navigation system and internal SIM card to take advantage of the phone functionality on MOST" Does yours have a sim Mike? JR
  14. Invoice has it as 5.5 hours which was approved by 3rd party warranty - I am assuming that is accurate. JR
  15. 2004 Cayenne Turbo...39,000 miles - pump replacement part# 948-106-011-04 I am guessing it is an updated pump since there where a lot of failures on the early ones. JR
  16. That's what I needed thanks RFM... I am assuming if I pry carefully on the mirror it will "pop" out? JR
  17. When I dropped off the CT service writer said it was the water pump as soon as he heard the noise - he has it heard it many times before - will let you know how the repair goes. JR UPDATE: Work order states "coolant pump bearing major play" total price $774.10 - so nice to not hear that anymore...
  18. I called 3 dealerships and was quoted between $700-$800 parts/labor. Scheduled it for thursday. I am scheduled for Thursday as well - dealer had the water pump in stock - this should be a good test for the 3rd party warranty I purchased for the CT lat year. JR
  19. I have the exact same issue - from what I have read there is a water pump behind that pulley and they are known to go bad in the 04' Will be taking mine to the dealer soon... JR Thanks for your reply. Did you get a quote on how much this job will be? No quote as of yet - I will post up as soon as I find anything out... JR
