  1. Delreycustoms.com has leds for the widebody in 3 different styles Spyder brand but they are $835 including a needed harness.
  2. Turbo and 4S lights are different from the lights for a narrow body. So far the only vendor I've found is Delreycustoms.com--they sell the Spyder brand in 3 different styles but they are $835 including a needed harness. Anyone found a cheaper source?
  3. Do OEM sparkplugs really cost $20 each? (Suncoast = $160/set) Are they available under a Bosche P/N from a parts supplier?
  4. I have a 2006 CS. The maintence manual just seems to indicate checking the drive belt. I don't see a schedule for replacing it.
  5. The TSB "coolant pipe remove/reinstall" states "labor time 100 TU"---what does 100TU translate to? I think I read somewhere that It's a 4 1/2 hour job.
  6. You need an adapter plug P/n PNA 955 118 93--this replaces the plate held on by 4 screws--the wiring harness plug should be already behind this plate--just attach to the back of the new adapter plug and you're in business. This adapter plug gives you a standard 7pin rv type receptacle. For a 7way to 4 flat--like most small trailers without brakes you need adapter plug PNA 955 127 08 to convert the unit to a 4pin flat. If your trailer has led lights Uhaul has a "led light trailer module" P/N uhaul39008 to use instead of the Porsche PNA955 127 08. Can't answer your second ? my Cayenne is an 06S --no air suspension.
  7. I had a misfire on one cylinder on my 2006 Cayenne S --the TSB said to replace them all so I got 8 new coilpacks at no charge. Car was still under original warranty.
  8. I have read on various forums that 04 Cayennes were prone to failure of the center driveshaft bearing. When were these shafts changed and how would I know if I have one of the failure prone shafts. My CS is an 06 model but it was manufactured the first day of 05 so it has at least some 04 parts in it. For instance the ignition coils were -01 units and were just replaced under warranty with -05 units per the TSB (one coil failed TSB said to replace them all).
  9. Approved oils per Porsche TSB dated Mar10, 2009: 0W-40 5W-40 and 5W-50. It's a Porsche --don't cheap out on the oil! And remember they come factory filled with Mobil 1.
  10. I picked up a set of 18" Turbo wheels by posting a "wanted to buy--18" Cayenne wheels" on Craigs list. I got a speedy reply with an offer to sell 4 wheels with center caps for $250. I think there are a lot of wheels like this taking up room in garages from people who upgraded to larger diameter wheels. I found that the 18's work perfect with Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tires. Also the 18" winter tires are considerably cheaper than the bigger sizes.
  11. K&N makes an oil filter--Part# HP7011 special order @ Autozone--$24.99
  12. I have a 2006 S and went with Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow from the Tirerack.com. I picked up a set of 18" Turbo wheels for $250 (lots of these sitting in garages from turbo owners who upgraded to bigger wheels). Be aware that as you go up in size the price goes up Tire RacK: 18" $203, 20" $267, 21" $298 and 22" $344. Prices are each + shipping. Also 21 and 22 Pirelli's are not -NO (Porsche spec) tires. Not sure how critical it is to have Porsche spec winter tires--when I got my 18's last year they were out of -NO tires so I went with Mercedes spec figured if they were good enough for a Benz suv they would probably be ok for a Porsche. Bonus was that the Benz tires have 4/32 more tread depth.
  13. I don't think a DVD for Europe is going to be much use to a person who lives in Ohio! Also Cayenne p/n's usually start with 955. A previous post stated thet the 08 nav update is 955 044 902 61.
  14. I don't think air temp has anything to do with the initial start in first gear. I live in the desert--my 06 S always starts in first gear on initial start in the morning even if it's 100-110F outside. You're right --it's designed that way to rapidly heat up the cats.
  15. The led trailer light adapter is also available at Uhaul stores or on line--part# 39008 $29.95.
  16. Has anyone tried the LN Engineering spin-on oil filter adapter?
  17. Towing a 7000# boat with a 5000# vehicle sounds a bit marginal.
  18. If you replace the battery be sure to get a sealed maintenance free battery like the Varta that came in my 06 S--you don't want to be unbolting the seat all the time to add water!
  19. The problem occured again afew days ago. Happened after I washed the car. This time I noticed that it is only the dash indicator lamp that is flashing fast--the front and rear lamps are flashing at normal speed. The next day the problem was gone.
  20. This is probably a stupid question--but if the access screws are 5.5mm hex head screws--what is the T20 torx driver used for? I found the answer--the T20 is used to remove the access cover that you need to remove in order to gain access to the "access cover" that is held by the 5.5mm screws.
  21. wvicary: As I stated in my original post - the front and rear lights are working and it's the same lights on the left as on the right side --so it's not a burned out light. The fact that it only happens ocasionally is what has me confused. Someone on the 6speed forum has the same problem except his is right side flashes fast.
  22. Some times when I activate the left turn signal on my 06 CS it flashes fast and gives me an error indication "check directional signal". I've gotten out to check the front and rear and the lites are both flashing just flashing quicker than normal and quicker than the right side. Any ideas?
  23. Why do you want a locking fuel cap? Doesn't your fuel door lock when the doors lock? My 06Cs does.
  24. Stolidog: The TSB is #6690 on page 16 of the TSB list. It does show a picture of the control unit but it also refers to the workshop manual for a better description of the control unit install. I followed the rest of the instructions as far as mounting the hitch and routing the harness. I couldn't figure out the control unit mounting so I left that up to the dealer when I took it in for computer reprogramming. The control unit actually ends up being mounted behind the cd changer. The TSB calls for several fuses to be installed in the right side fuse box--on my 06 the fuses were already installed. Charlie
