  1. My car is a 2002 C2 manual transmission with 116,500 miles. Car runs like a crazy, not leaking RMS or missfires, smooth, everything working like when it was new. The interior of my car looks and feel newer than some 2005-2006 997's that I was shopping around. Either the owners don't take care of their cars or I take excessive care of mine. I listed her on autotrader but I'm keeping her. Love her. Don't tell my wife. That's it. engine didn't blow. but since everybody post nightmares, I thought about posting a dream of a car. joel
  2. It's probably the starter not pulling the gear after the engine is turned and running. I had that and after replacing the starter the car is fine...
  3. 997 steering wheel won't work on 996 cars. different nut.
  4. Thanks Ben, next time (to anybody looking at fixing this) call Aaron from Suncoast, tell him joel from Miami sent you. He quoted me around $250 for all end tie rods. inners and outers, 4 in total. Happy it worked out for you. I will try to get my extended warranty fo fix it, if not, I will buy and install it. joel
  5. what you rather have: a 8 year old car with 21,000 miles or one with 108,000 miles... LOL! Garage queens are not a safe bet. too bad that perception is just the opposite. anyway... if you got your car from a Porsche dealership, you can work something out... joel
  6. Don't forget to seal them. I paid a local guy $50 to get mine done to sell them. (I bought new ones and the old ones I sold on ebay) They get 98% perfect. The secret is to seal them, otherwise they will get bad (and worse than before) faster than you can think. -joel
  7. I have lobster claws from a 997 S and they fit fine. No spacers needed. Even that I'm running 235's in the front and 305's in the back. No rubbing. These are the lightest wheels Porsche is making at this moment. See pics. I hope this helps! joel
  8. I'm running 235's fronts and 305's in the back. Love the wide stance at the back joel
  9. This is for the one on the car, not the spoiler. Does anybody know the location for the fuse???? The car is a 2002 Carrera 2 US Thanks! joel
  10. Thanks! So I'm assuming that A3 and A5 of the 996 switches are the ones for the light, correct? Are the plugs on the 996 numbered or the BNLL means colors??? I guess I can figure it out with the WH/GY (white/grey) but BN LL and A3 pin doesn't have a color code.... or BN BN on the 997 plug....????? Thanks for all the help! joel
  11. Thanks Loren.... What I want to do is to use the 997 version on my 996 car and just "jump" the correct cables from my 2 plugs on the 996's to the correct pins on the 997 socket. Since, I would think, the 997 version is "still" an electrical switch. I'm still confused by the graph tough....
  12. Hi there! Does anyone knows what are the 5 pins on the plug? Each pin has a number I'm flying blind as I don't know what does each pin on that plug... This is for the door sill electronic switches for a carrera 997 in the US many thanks in advance! joel pirela
  13. Hi Guys! In a mission to use the 997 part instead of the 996, I got to a snag on the switches plugs' pin-out. On the 996 there are 2 plugs with the switches and on the 997 there are 4 pins only. I want to adapt my 996 to use the 997 part. Any help? The 997 part fits perfectly but the wires need to be re-routed/adapted/spliced, etc... Thanks in advance! joel my car: 2002 Carrera C2 in the US
  14. Do you recall the normal behavior... maybe I'm getting old. ; ) TIA! joel
  15. I have my dealer replace the spring or pin from the inside door handle because I went to open my door from the inside and hear a "clank" and the silver handle was with no tension whatsoever. Before this incident, my door acted normal, i.e. After a drive, I stop and pull the handle once to unlock the car and once again to open the door. During this last pull, the window will drop half an inch to allow egress... Now, when I pull the handle once (or the first time) the door unlock but also the window drop the half inch and the door become half open but I can swing it, so the window goes back up. All this happens in about 0.5 seconds. Once I pull one more time, the window will drop and I can open like normal. What can I do??? can I reset the handle switch (like the windows switch??) My car is a US 2002 Carrera C2, 6 speed. Many thanks! joel pirela
  16. Hi there! This is for a 2002 carrera.... I have my yellow seat belts coming soon and I need to know if there's a trick to remove that plastic part (you know the one that sits on the "B" pillar that you press to move the seat belt anchor point up and down) I need it to expose the screw/bolt so I can take out the old belt... Thanks! joel
  17. Hi guys! After a long drive home last night (not spirited!) my temp reading was the usual between the 8 and the 0 in 180 (maybe touching the left part of the 0.... so not hot at all... anyway, I finally get home, shut the car off and after 10-15 minutes I go outside and the engine compartment fan is at full blow. I put the key in the ignition and remove it and the fan stops.... is that normal? This is the second time it does that in 2 weeks..... Thanks! joel it's a 2002 carrera 2 in the US
  18. or you can upgrade to suncoast 993 turbo reds for the 996 c2 see it here: http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...96BrakesCarrera Call Steve 1-877-923-1700 and tell him Joel Pirela from Miami sent you.
  19. Hi! I used this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...IN1R&tp=422 then this one for power: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/autopilot I bought a RCA to 1/8" stereo cable and I tapped the power from the telephone power connector on the center console (switched +12) That way I have a black/low profile ipod 30 pin cable that only powers the ipod when the car is running. Once you take the keys off the ignition, the ipod pauses itself and shut off by itself. No need to unplug or anything else. Sound is great (with an additional noise filter) you just have to activate the AUX mode on the becker CDR220. So, I can tell that the cable I posted works. I hope this helps! -joel
  20. It's the one on the driver's side with the two buttoms for electronic opening of the truck and engine lid. This is for a non-memory seat and it's for a 2002 Carrera in the US market. Thanks! joel
