    After changing my glove box lock, I was driving about 10 min after the change and got a "systems fault" light come on in the center of dash. Is this related and can it just be reset? If something else what generally is it and cost? Thanks for any help!

    new ones dont have a locking ring. How does the boot stay close to the knob? I dont see where anyone has changed the boot to another one. They just remove and replace same boot. I want to change the boot.

    I see how to get the boot off the console but how do you seperate it from the knob and then change it completely (to alcantara) and then re attach to the knob? Thanks!

    Hi guys! I have researched this and was unable to find anything. Was hoping you could help please! I want to replace a leather shifter boot on my 997 with a alcantara one. I see pictures etc on changing the Shifter knob but not the boot. Any pictures or verbal help would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks!

    Has anyone removed the shift boot on a 997? I want to remove the leather one and replace with a alcantara one but am unable to see a DIY that shows it being done. Thanks for the help!

    I did the same thing and looks great! I thing I'd like to do is get rid of the "----------" in the middle of the gauge where the trip computer and nav info used to display (center gauge behind steering wheel). Did you get rid of that? Thanks!

    Well, it finally happened! After 42 years of driving, 30 years (now retired)of driving emergency vehicles (Fire engines and trucks), never having a ticket or accident, I got both! As I approached an intersection the light changed to yellow and I continued through.....another car waiting to turn left turned in front of me and we hit! The other car said the light was red and had a next door neighbor in the car so had a witness. The cop gave me a ticket for not stopping at a red. It's my word against theirs. Luckily there was no injuries!!! My question is is for anyone that has gone to court instead of just paying the ticket.... 1. Is it worth trying to go to court for this? The other prson had a witness in the car....I was alone. 2. Is the police officer or other person there at the court hearing hearing? Any of your experiences would be really helpful!!! Thanks in advance.

    Berty, you are so right. Several have done this without any problems. I am trying to find out from them which system worked the best ( Alpine505 or the Kenwood 8120. ) Thanks for adding some support and hope someone who has done it replys here.
