  1. Cheers Mike, I have been aware of the control box problem for some time after reading a number of posts on the subject. I always check under the seat and have never found it to feel wet. I also maintain the drain holes so fingers crossed I wont suffer this problem. Is there anything you can do to safeguard the control box ie(waterproof it) as prevention is obviously better than cure. Thanks again.....Kenny
  2. Cheers guys I had an idea it may have been the ignition switch, i think i'll take it out to see which one ive got as im led to believe there are 2 types???. Thanks for your help!!!!
  3. Hi guys, Im running a 2004 "S" manual UK car with 22000 miles on the clock. I have had trouble free motoring for the past 2 years. My problems started a few months ago when i started my car after a week sat in the rain. As i was pulling away in first gear the airbag light and interior light and passenger door light came on. After restarting the car the lights went away. This happened 2 or 3 more times early November and has not reoccurred since. I am now however experiencing difficulty starting the car every time i go to use it. On the inital turn of the key the starter wont even engage. If I turn off the ignition and try to restart it starts straight away. Sorry for the long post guys but im new to all this and would appreciate any light you may be able to throw on the problem. Thanks in advance...
  4. Hi, everyone. I have owned my S since November 2007. I purchased it from a Lexus dealer in Chester UK. It is a 2004 manual model with 12000 miles on the clock. I just had it serviced at Tech9 motorsport in Hale Cheshire.(Fantastic outfit and very cheap for the UK) Anyway they told me my Rear main was leaking and would need replacing. As I had only recently purchased the vehicle with a 12 month warranty I approached Lexus to see if they would cover the repair. After inspection they confirmed the fault but said that it was not covered under my warranty. They had contacted Porsche Chester about fault and they agreed to do the job as a goodwill gesture with me only having to pay 10% of the labour charge, all parts free. That came to £93. Happy days!! :) Thay also found that my oil filler neck had split (£210) also not covered by my warranty. Not so happy days. So nice one Porsche Chester. Bad skills Lexus and the warranty thats not worth the paper its written on. This makes me wonder how many other people could benefit from Porsches goodwill scheme. Is this the norm or have I just been very lucky?
  5. I had a similar problem albeit on a different car but my squeak when cold turned out to be some mounting bolts on the exhaust system. Might explain why the difference in temp affects it.
