  1. I have a 997.2 with a PCM 2.1.

I installed a Dension 500bt about 5 Years ago had had been working excellently with Bose system.

I have full Blue Tooth phone and Music from an IPOD connected directly to the unit or via BT phone. Its a great setup and overall works really well.

Following IOS 11 Update the system has gone nuts and keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, dropping calls etc.

The latest Firmware version 64 i am told has some fixes to overcome these problems.

Anybody has experience of the effectiveness of the update.

    Thanks

  2. I have had my front screen replaced on my 997.1 but the new glass is marked as made by St Gobain but the quality is not to the same standard as the original.

the installer said it was OEM.

The fit is also poor with excess wind noise and i feel the seal is defiantly not OE. The overall profile look wrong compared to the pictures taken before the fitting.

The same glass has been fitted twice and still is not right. On the first install the rubber block at the bottom was not used resulting in the screen sitting to deep into the opening and the scuttle panel not fitting correctly. One rubber block that i found was used the second time with some improvement but there is only 1 rubber block and not 2 as detailed on the parts diagram.

There is also no P symbol on the glass which i understand indicates made for and supplied to porsche as a genuine part.

    Thanks

  3. I have the exact same problem.I stripped the rear bumper off and was going to try and get the left Cat out and on the bench but no joy.The other side is as bad with corrosion so both need to be removed and studs pressed out.

Did you replace with porsche parts or SS nut and bolts.

I didnt expext a splined stud as the Diagram discribes it as a 30mm M8 Screw

    thanks

  4. Good Day To All

Noticed increase nosie on Engine Start. Sounded like busted exhaust.

on investigation found blowing between Exhaust Manifold LHS and Catalytic converter. The nuts on all 3 screws are completely rusted and after cooling down the 2 parts can be separated slightly.

The 3 screws and locking nuts are shown on the parts diagram as not connected to the Cat.

My problem is that i can get the screws out to replace them with the exhaust still on the car.

    Any advise

    thanks

  5. I have this same problem, it has been worked on by on opc and they replaced both condensors and aircon pipe with a re gas after each repair. that was 4 months ago and the noise is back. the noise is only there when you have the ariconditioning turned on. It was explained before that the pump is labouring with no gas as it had leaked out over time.

Any comments greatly recieved as i think that this is not an uncommon problem.

  7. Hi, Have 2002 996 C2 with PCM 1 unit. Flat battery and now pcm unit is looking for code. I got original from porsche and it dose not work. After investigations got another code from dealer who say that they recoded unit and gave me new code. No joy with that one either. Unit was working perfect before this with 2009 maps and phone card ect. Can any one help.

    Thanks PK

  8. Thanks for the info.

Just wonder how they got it out. Did the remove the ficia of the unit poke it out or was it much more scientific than that.

    Thanks

996 2002 car with PCM1 Sat Nav. Recent purchases and put disc supplied into unit (2002.1 uk and Ireland). The system will not go past Initialization stage and the disc will not eject now. The 2 yellow lights below the disc eject button flash whenever the car ignition is on.

    Can any one help.

    Thanks

    Hi

I'm not sure if it helps, but I had the same thing with a DVD disc in PCM1 on a 2000 996. Took Porsche Guildford about 2 hours to free the DVD - apparently they sometimes get jammed in the mechanism, although the service manager tried to tell me I had inserted the DVD in the gap between the unit and the fascia "by mistake". I politely suggested I wasn't *that* dumb, and although PCM is not on the warranty, as I had only bought the car off them 2 days earlier, they didn't charge me.
