so with a hood costing about $900 and paint probably $1K in paint, I am looking at 3-4k?

Thank you, I was just hoping to get a high level idea if it will be a 1,500$ repair or a 4,000$ one as the decision to submit a claim or not would be pretty easy then Any idea as well on insurance premium hikes in NYC?

Unfortunately I rear ended a cab in NYC yesterday with some front damage I have collision insurance with a $1,000 deductible. Any estimates on the damage and should I just file a claim or pay out of my own pocket? Additionally, any shop recommendations for the repair? Searching the forum I found the following Technik One in Manhattan Numme Auto Body & Fender Repair in Port Chester NY Finish Line in Valley Stream NY Star service in LIC Anybody has recent experience with the shops above for a similar repair?
