  1. About halfway through there are 3 pops. Any ideas?? Popping sounds
  2. I recorded the sound on my cell phone, and as soon as I figure out how to convert a .arm file I will post it
  3. My car is actually an 1/8" lower than a friends C4S with X73, so I think its probably about right. It is stiffer than stock, but I don't mind it. It feels like a sports car now. Depends on what you use it for, we drove the C4S for 1300 miles to get it back to Atlanta and the trip wasn't bad at all. Around town I can definitely tell its stiffer as you feel a lot more bumps.
  4. Hmm will need to look at this on the weekend. My engine copartment fan on my 02 C2 cab comes on alot and stays of for extended periods of time.
  5. 25-1/4" front 25" rear pics front rear How I measured rear front Sorry some of the pics are a little blurry
  6. I did plenty of research. What finally sold me was a post from Gert at Carnwal. He basically said PSS9's and H&R coilovers have stiffer settings than X74 and they sell them for coupes and cabs. Nobody questions when someone puts PSS9's on a cab. Now mine is an 02 cab so the structure was stiffened from the mkI model. Those with 99-01 cab's might not want to install X74.
  7. Haven't got the car back, but the color match is done all that is left is the final wetsand. I will keep you posted.
  8. It did it before I swapped suspensions too. Now that I think about it towards the end of my time with my Boxster (ordered it new) it was starting to pop as well. 39 months and 21k miles. Here is what I have to deal with getting in and out of my parking deck.
  9. I am getting my front bumper resprayed and fixed (cursed front plates... ) but will have the p-car back on Friday so I will measure and take pics.
  10. Hmm I replaced the sway bars with 030 sways was part of the X74. So I know they are tight. However, I had to reuse my original bushings, maybe they are bad.
  11. I bought my car in Feb of 08. 2002 C2 Cab with 65k miles. In the last month it has started making a very loud popping sound when I turn and there is an elevation change. It sounds like it is coming from directly under the back seat. It did this with the stock suspension and now with X74. Any ideas of what this could be? :D
  12. I bought it used from a Rennlist member. $1500 shipped, too good of a deal to pass up. My Cab handles like a new car now. Most of the understeer is gone. As far as ride and stiffness, the car is more of a sportscar now than a touring car. To me its not jarring, it is stiff and it is waaaaaay low. I live and drive in Midtown Atlanta where the roads are less than ideal, but so far I haven't thought wow this is just too harsh and a big mistake.
  13. It is a part of the X74 suspension package. What it actually does...or is capable of doing is the million dollar question.
  14. Don't ask me what this thing does, but here are some pics of where it goes. My X74 kit didn't come with instructions, and the best info I could find on installing this was it goes in the rear taillight and it is real easy :) These instructions are for an 02 C2 cab YMMV To remove the tail light you need a 10mm socket to remove one screw. Once removed you need a T20 torx bit to remove the two screws holding in the tailight bracket Here is the tail light bracket The massive X74 rear brace! And here is where it goes Install rear tailight and put 10mm screw/bolt back in and you are done. One work of caution, when reinstalling the taillight mounting bracket get it back in the same position as it was before you removed it and your tail light should be flush. I didnt pay much attention to the first one and it took me a couple of minutes of fiddling around with it to get it right :cursing: . When I did the other one I put the bracket back in the same place and the tail light lined up perfectly. The second one took less than 5 minutes to do. probably more like 2
  15. For those of you with X74 suspensions, what alignment specs are you running? I have the table with all the different settings, and I just wanted to know if those were working for people. 80% street and 20% autocross, and only about 5k miles a year so I don't mind a slightly aggressive set up. Thanks! 02 C2 Cab
  16. Any suggestions on brands and cost for a low end and a mid/upper range? Thanks
  17. Sorry for the revival of this thread, but I just wanted to get confirmation that the x74 set up will work on an 02 C2 CAB. Thanks
  18. Update I ordered the following part: 996-505-555-01 which is apparently the front lip spoiler for the Carerra Aero kit also know as the Aero Cab kit. It is a direct install into the underneath of an 02 bumper. Turns out I already have one of these on my car  :cursing: Here are some pics of the part.
  19. You have the CDR-23 Gremlins. On my 03 Box I had the same issues, plus my radio would freeze up. I had the Hi-Fi system which is similar to Bose in that it has an Amp in the front trunk. These Amps have know issues. They replaced my Amp two times and my head unit once. the freeze ups stopped but I would still intermittently lose my sound settings. I believe it has something to do with the MOST bus system, because when they replaced my head unit all of my radio station presets were there, and I do mean ALL of them. At first I thought I had a great Service Tech, but after a little digging I found out that via the MOST bus the presets are stored on the computer (or maybe it was the diagnostic tool). I think that every once in awhile there is a "miscommunication" and the sound settings go to default.
  20. Don't know the manufacture date, but it is an 02 so post factory shut down and post 7/01. Stock 02 front bumper. Aero cab rear spoiler and side skirts added after it left the factory, because it is not on the build sticker. I ordered the rubber front lip that is part of the Aero Cab/carrera kit that is a made for 02 face lifted/MKII front bumpers. I know the GT3 rubber lip will fit with some trimming, and it looks great and is reported to work well. I ordered the part I did to see how it looks/works since I know the GT3 lip will work, but don't know about this one. From what I gather, the 02 face lifted front bumper aerodynamics are enough such that you can can just add the aero cab/carrera rear wing. I ordered it from Suncoast today so I should have it in about a week. I will post pictures and let you know if it is a direct install.
  21. Thanks. I have a stock 02 bumper. I will post what I end up with including pics :)
  22. Hello all I just got an 02 C2 Cab and it has the areo cab wing and side skirts. I am contemplating adding a spoiler lip under the front bumper. Seaching on the topic I found 4 different part numbers. I talked to Rik at Suncoast and asked him about the parts, but on his order screen there wasn't a diagram. Does anybody have a diagram or a picture of the following part numbers? 996-505-986-02-G2X - this appears to be the front lip for the areokit II front bumper as it comes primed for painting 996-505-555-01 - this appears to be the rubber front lip that goes with the aero cab rear spoiler and should be a direct fit to my front bumper. 996-505-986-92-01C - GT3 rubber front spoiler lip. I have seen pics of it, but I don't like the fact that you have to cut the ends off as it hang into the wheel wells. It also seems that the GT3 cup lip spoiler will work but I am not as sure I like the looks of it as much. Part number for that is 996-505-986-90. I have seen pics of this. Thanks it advance! Shawn
