  1. I used a mobridge unit $175 on eBay with a Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit from Amazon which was $35, Also removed my CD changer in the back and installed a fiber loop. Works like a charm, I listen to my apple music service via BT all the time. The little Kinivo unit is awesome as you can also take and make hands free calls with it.
  2. Research Research Research, These are not maintenance free but when you fix their issues you can be sure it is a great vehicle. Got mine at 35K replaced coolent pipes, Carden Shaft, Water Pump coils. Been problem free for 10 K miles and 1 year now :) Sorry it did not work out for you...
  3. i had a simular sound, knocking sound in the front. Turned out to be the water pump
  4. interesting... How does this guy get away with it? I purchased my CTT (2004) on CL did the whole carfax thing, car was like new with 34K miles on it. Since I've replaced the pipes, shaft, coils and water pump. The car is a beast. I did all items as a proactive step (except the shaft) at Scottsdale Porsche. Quotes form 3rd party shops were more expensive as Mark gave me some serious discounts on all the items... This car seems way over priced in my opinion. Its 2 years newer but has over double the miles on mine. Not too crazy about the color either.
  5. Just a follow up in looking at this again as i was looking on my phone. i looks like the switch on the front there is your toggle switch. if you try to move it back and forth 3 times it may disengage the unit and allow your CD changer to work. I would find a way however to add A2DP to this setup by add ing a Kinovo BTC450 unit to the setup. http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTC450-Bluetooth-Hands-Free-Input/dp/B009NLTW60
  6. Most likely the AUX port was replaced with the RCA. Is there a toggle switch any where you can find? If there is you may have a MOBRIDGE unit try switching it back and forth 3 times and your CD CHANGER MAY WORK
  7. My 04 CTT started idling rough after driving for 20 minutes or so. On cold start up (i live in AZ so its not that cold) the car runs great for 20 minutes or so then it begins to idle really rough and seems to have less power at low RPM's. At higher RPS's the issue goes away. The Check engine light came on then went off and now it is back on again. Anyone have an idea as to what the issue is here? Thanks...
  8. Did you replace both batteries? I had the same issue but only replaced the rear battery. Once i replaced the battery under the seat all the errors went away. Not sure on the sputtering. Hope this helps...
  9. did you apply ample grease around the touch points (not the pads to the rotor)? That could be the problem...
  10. I use Parallels and run XP & Windows 7 on my mac book pro. boot camp sucks as you have to reboot your pc to use it. Parallels is a lot better in my opinion. One item though you need to make sure you have at least 8 gig of RAM as you will need to allocate 4 gig to parallels and the virtual machines and 4 gig to OSX. The other items that should be addressed is using dual drives in you MB pro. you can purchase and install a solid state drive to run OSX on by replacing the super drive in your mac (who even uses a driver anymore. if you do make it external) http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/ These guys have great videos on how to do the install. this allows you to run all your apps on a SSD and put your files on the SATA drive. If you already have a SSD drive, purchase a SATA drive to house your files.. You will need to purchase Parallels 10 You can run a lower version if you have not upgraded to Yosemite In summary you will need Hardware SSD drive to replace the super drive upgrade the memory to at least 8 gig. if you are already there great!! Housing to make our super drive external. Software Parallels 10 or parallels 9 if still on mavericks Windows operating system disk. I believe you will need windows 7 for Durametric if you dont want to go the SSD route just get the memory upgrade and the software. I am able to Run VAC COM (W XP) and durametric (W7) on my MB Pro :) with no boot camp BS... Let me know if you have questions. ...Dan
  11. i just had mine done at North Scottsdale, They get the OEM part from another supplier for $775 (clamping sleeves were replaced and 6 new screws) so total parts were 887 - 10% or $798. Labor was 319 with a 10% discount or $287. Total price was $1,085 so not is all bad in their world as they recognize this is a frustrating issue for CTT owners. Mine was at 41K but the original owner took delivery in 2003 so this truck is 11 years old now. Guess i could have saved the labor and done this myself but having the 1 year warranty on the new shaft i guess is worth it to me. I would go back to the dealer and tell them what others are charging . $1,500 seems excessive
  12. I have the following symptoms: Change to settings (Comfort) reset to default once car is turned off and locked and unlocked. Time for Clock returns to what was the initial setting on dash and PCM. You can set the clock and drive the car, the clock works until you turn off the car. PCM returns to radio even when i have selected CDC or CD after restarting the Navigation map not showing correct location. the current location shows i am somewhere in Mexico Date shows 01/01/00. There is no way to change it. Anyone have ideas on what the issue is? Thanks for your help.
  13. yea well we will see. This battery should last me 10 years and i do plan to keep her that long. I thought so as well but decided to bite the bullet on this one. All my problems related to the battery are now gone :) so i am happy.
  14. I already tried that. I am thinking it has something to do with GPS working on the PCM but wanted to see if anyone else ever experienced this and had some ideas. Thanks
  15. I have a 04 CTT and i've tried to set the time on the dash and the PCM and neither works. The time sets and works until i shut off the car and then once i restart the car it starts back at the time i set previously just like groundhog day. Also my Nav system does not work (not that i really care). They appear to be related as they both started acting up after i installed a MoBridge. I've check all connections and everything seems connected properly. Anyone have ideas on what is causing this?
  16. Well just got back from North Scottsdale Porsche. I did pull the old battery and the ground terminal was badly corroded. Purchased an Moll battery $436 (ouch) and an new cable is on the way from Sonnen. Looks like the pervious owner had a Touareg Battery in her. Not sure when it was replaced but I am hopeful this will solve my problems for years to come.
  17. Replacing the rear did nothing to solve the problem of slow starts and errors form the system.
  18. I know mien has 2 and am debating what to do. I replaced the rear and Porsche is telling me they have a Moll battery for the front that would go under the front seat. It's $400 not installed. Do you have any recommendations on Batteries for a 04 turbo? Thanks...dan
