  1. One wire is connected to the fuse panel for power (used for powering the vacuum valve, the new relay, the LED light and the backlighting.) Another wire from the switch connects to the dimmer circuit on the relay board for backlighting when the headlights are on. One wire connects the LED light to a signal at the new relay. The system is also grounded at the relay panel. You may be able to work out a less sophisticated connection ... but the factory wiring harness is much more complicated than straight switched power.
  2. As a part of the aftermarket PSE installation, there is a single grey/pink wire that plugs into jumper position 23. At jumper position 23, there exists a number of grey/pink wires that are installed at the factory ... along with empty slots where one can plug-in the added aftermarket PSE wire. The aftermarket wire terminates with a spade lug that plugs directly into the back of the jumper. You can avoid the 30 - 45 mph cutout by simply not connecting the aftermarket grey/pink PSE wire to jumper 23. Everything else works as expected, including the dash mounted on/off switch. There is no need to do the "hack" on an aftermarket PSE installation. Simply unplug the new grey/pink wire from jumper 23. It should be obvious which grey/pink wire is the aftermarket wire, as it is not a part of the large factory bundled wire loom.
  3. I am installing the switch for the PSE. (I live in a neighborhood where I need the ability to shut it off.) Is there a wiring diagram available? I cannot make out the relay and fuse connections from the written description contained in the related #2601 TSB. Specifically, there is a RE/BU wire with an attached connector that is longer than needed to reach the fusebox/relay area, so I cannot figure out where it goes. This wire is part of a group of RE/BU wires that are crimped together, including a long RE/BU wire that connects to the vacuum valve in the engine compartment and one that goes to terminal 15 of the PSE relay. 2002 C4S Coupe
  4. I inadvertently caused a short, single honk upon locking when I changed my factory radio (2002 C4S). There is a contact arm on the left side of the radio DIN box that hits a nylon pad built into the side of the factory radio (about the size of a postage stamp.) If this contact arm is grounded by installing a replacement radio without the nylon pad, the car will chirp to let you know that something has changed. It is easy to slide the radio out to get access to this contact ... and there may be a way you can figure out to fool the contact into thinking your radio has been removed to cause the chirp you desire (i.e., some way to easily ground it or bend it) FWIW, I put a piece of tape on the side of my new head unit to shut the chirp off.
