  1. I wish I new. I talked to my trusted body shop as I had the center console in my 944 repainted and it looked like new again. But with my 2000 Boxster, they said I was best to just replace it with new.
  2. I'm in the process of doing this right now. I'm using the rings from the old speaker which are not a problem to remove at all. Just take an exacto knive to trim out the oem speaker cone, then use an open ended hacksaw to cut away the plastic speaker supports. Quick work with a file trims the nubs down. Takes less time than to place the order for the brackets. I'm replacing with Polk Audio 4" speakers which requires using some good quality tin snips to remove some of the speakers metal support plate. Good luck!
