  1. Recently purchased a 2012 Cayenne 6 cylinder with roof racks but no hitch. Full retail at local Porsche dealer for the hitch is $1200 and likely better deal at Suncoast. Is this a DIY project or Dealer Installed project.? Is there a TSB on this install? I did a quick search here with no luck. Thanks for any input.
  2. My 01 996 is a track car now and I run CCW Wheels made per GT3 spec offsets with 245/45X18 Front (8.5X18 ET40) and 295/30X18 Rear (11X18 ET63) Hoosier R6 with -3.5 camber front and -3.0 rear with no problemo! I would assume my 01 996 with the MK1 aero is the same body as your GT3
  3. Parts department cannot find with that number but they are rearching.
  4. I am looking for the Center Tail Light delete which I am told was used on the MKII Aerokit since the MKII wing had this light in the wing. I have a MKI aero and have removed the fan which has disabled the light. I could paint the light black but would like to put in the blank piece made to fit the place where the light resides. Thanks.
  5. Nice car BTW :). I dont know if it was the rain getting the bearing to make that noise or the tire pressure...it seems to have gone out. I guess when I do bearings, I could do brake pads also (same labor to get there). How hard is it to DIY the job, are there any more non-reusable parts that have to be bought in advance?. I would not attempt the bearing replacement. I watched one come out and you need a press to take out and put back. My mechanic has a listening device he attaches to the shock towers. The he runs the car and listens for the noise. In my case, there was no noise until it warmed up after a mile or so. That was the left rear. The right side was OK but I replaced just for safety knowing it would not be long until they went as well.
  6. I just replaced all four bearings on my 2001 996 with 58K miles. I do track my car mostly and it has maybe 75 DE days and the rest is street. Of ocurse, with most road courses having a clockwise rotation, my left side was where the problems arose. While the two right sides were not making noise, I just replaced all four for safety. Bearings front are $65 rear $110 and labor is about 2.2 hours per wheel.
  7. I remember reading the owner's manual on this, and I thought it was typical Porsche. As I recall, the manual said to shift before the rev limiter is activated. That seems to cover most of the answers given on the topic!
  8. My VB guy, Lutzo, recommended the Turbo Brake Ducts and I put these on my 996 track car. They are huge compared to the 996 ducts. He says the Turbo ducts are larger than the 997 but I am not sure about that
  9. I just bought this 2006 CAB S Dark Olive metallic 22K miles with CPO for $75,000 from dealer. Full Leather Cocoa and Cocoa Top NAV BOSE
  10. I bought the GT3 wheels from a PCA member on Long Island about two years ago. I am going to use these for my street tires. I have two sets of CCWs for the track now.
