    Ended up going to the dealer this weekend. I had them check the seats and they found that a sensor was not working properly. That was causing the seat to move forward (instead of backwards) when the door opens. They've ordered the part and I'll take it back to the dealer next Monday for warrenty work. Hopefully this will fix it ;-)

    Hello everyone, To start out with, I've got a 2009 V6 with the sport seat memory option (GTS style). This includes the power telescoping steering wheel (page 45 of the owners manual). When the Easy Entry Function button is enabled (button pressed in), the drivers seat is supposed to move back when the door is opened and move to the stored position when engine is turned on (I've saved my key to memory #1 and my wife's key to memory #2). When you get into the car, the seat height, steering wheel adjustment and seatbelt shoulder height gets set properly, but for some reason the seat forward/back setting never gets set properly. The seat doesn’t move forward or backwards at all. I figuered that I would just press the memory button and it would move to the correct position, but when you press and hold the memory button (for example #1) the seat will move forward WAY too far, not to the correct stored setting. When you get out of the car, the seat moves forward slightly (about 2-3 inches). The steering wheel correctly moves completely out of the way though. Any ideas?

    Maurice, Thanks also for the reply. I currently have a Lexus GX470 (Toyota Prodo here in Japan) that was ordered as well. It's a limited edition, but it only took 2 months from "yes I want it" to "here's the keys." And this was during a MY change as well (MY05 to MY06). I just cant understand waiting over 9 months to get a car... I was a little ticked off when I was first told 6 months, but I figured since the Cayenne is actually much lower production numbers then Toyota/Lexus, this must be normal... Then it gets pushed to 9 months. I'm just waiting for a mid-October email saying "sorry, it's been pushed out again to Jan/Feb" I think that will be the last straw :soapbox: Sorry to keep ranting, but I feel like since this is Porsche, they should take care of their customers better and I feel like I'm being screwed over.

    Thanks mudman2, I guess I was missinformed then. That makes me feel a little better. I'm still a little miffed that I placed the order in early March, but it's not going to arrive until almost 9 months later. This is my first Porsche... is this normal?

    RMF, thanks for the quick reply. If that's the case, I wonder why he kept telling me delivery in late September... :cursing: This is a real bummer, as I've taken vacation from work in early October expecting to drive all over the country :drive:

    Hello everyone, I just got an email from my dealer telling me that my Cayenne won’t be delivered until November/December timeframe... He also said that 2009 models aren't being built until September. This is a real shock as I was lead to believe (by the same sales assistant – Manager) that it would be delivered in late September. Here's my order history: Early March, I decide to purchase, make first down payment Wait May timeframe, send email asking for order update Received verbal confirmation (phone call) that the car “should” arrive late September or early October Wait Wait Mid July, the dealer informed me that I’m number 3 on the list and need to make my final down payment 2 days later, make final down payment (with verbal confirmation that the car “should” arrive in late September again…) Wait Wait Today, Aug 13th I’m informed that the car won’t be built until September at the earliest, delivery in November or December. I live in Japan, so I can understand 1 month shipping from Germany… but this is getting ridiculous! It was under my impression that 2009 models are already being built, as well as some people taking delivery already. Isn’t this the case? Or am I just being impatient?

    Thanks for the replies everyone. The more and more I think about it, the more I think I'll pass on it. $2000 US is way to high for this feature. I will probably get some other option instead ;-)

    Sorry for the late reply... I tried searching the Japanese Pioneer website for a dash kit, but couldn't find anything... I know they're avaliable, but I dont know where to get one online. The local autoparts store could probably order one...

    Here in Japan the PCM is not an option... so we have to choose aftermarket navigation systems. Pioneer is one that makes great aftermarket navigation systems here in Japan. In fact, that will probably be the brand I get when my Cayenne arrives later this year. As mentioned before, you will not be able to use the orig. amp, so you'll have to get that ripped out. In Japan, the MOST system is an option and not standard. Therefore the speakers that come in the car as default work fine with RCA.

    Hello everyone, I've ordered a new Cayenne with the Entry and Drive option (as well as a lot of other options). In Japan, the option costs about $1900 US. Do you think this is really worth the high cost, or is there some other option that you would recommend instead? Do you like this feature? Is it useful? Thank you for your time Fred

    Thanks for the reply Vincent. I ordered the Cayenne without the BOSE sound system. It will come with the standard speakers, but radio-less. I'll have the navigation system installed by the dealer. Once it arrives (sometime around September) I'll take some pictures and post them.     Thanks Dennis for your reply. The factory rear camera option is not available in Japan, as well as the navigation system. Everything is aftermarket. The aftermarket navigation systems are incredible! Some of the nice options that these aftermarket navigation systems offer are digital TV reception, iPod integration, front camera and wireless remote control. The back camera fits above the rear license plate (near the handle for opening the rear lift gate). The front camera would fit in the grill and allows peaking around tight corners or intersections. The side camera (under the passenger side mirror) is the only camera that comes from the factory. It's a standard part, not an option. I'm just wondering if anyone has see specs or instructions about this. I'd also like to find out more about the rear view mirror. The only owners manual I could find for 2008 models are the English ones. I can’t find any manuals or documentation for the 2008 Cayenne models sold here in Japan (Japanese manuals).

    Hello everyone, This is my first post. I live in Japan and ordered a 2009 Cayenne V6 about 1 month ago (my first Porsche). I've searched the web for an owners manual and found a few 2008 Cayenne English manuals on this site as well as the old Cayenne (pre 2008 model) Japanese version on the Porsche Japan website. All of the manuals I've found, including the Japanese version listed on the official Porsche website, do not show any information about the side camera that comes standard under the outside passenger side mirror. At the delear, I checked it out and found it pretty helpful (Japan streets can get a little tight). The video shows up in the rear view mirror. This can be turned on/off with a button on the mirror. Does anyone have more information about this camera or the rear view mirror? I know that the standard rear view mirror is auto dimming, but I'm not sure about the Japanese version. Thanks for your help.
