  1. It's a 996 my05 with most and bose system (and cd charger)
  2. Yes Tri, thanks for your answer. But Bose speakers are 2 ohms impedance (insread of 4 ohms with most speakers). Will they work with a non-Bose amp ? And what do I do with the CD charger ? Finally, if I buy a new amp, do I just have to connect it to the Avic ? If yes, do I need the wires harnesses provided with your kit ? Thanks again.
  3. Sorry, I don't understand... And what about a kit for porsche with MOST bus ? Did you give up ?
  4. Hi, Trieullionnaire, have you got news for me and 996 with MOST and BOSE owners ? A few months ago, you were talking about some testings on this case. Did you succeed ? On your website, I can see kits only for 986 and 997... Thanks.
  5. I don't think so.... I have 2 problems to solve before trying to install a new head unit : 1) Keeping my Bose speakers 2) Deleting the MOST thing. No solution at this time :(
  6. Hi Whall, I knew that DIY before.... Notice that the guy has got rid of his BOSE amp.... What I what to do is to keep the BOSE system (speakers, amp and CDC), and just connect a double din head unit... Thanks.
  7. Hi everybody, I'm still digging out the web to find a solution for my BOSE + MOST car, before I purchase Trieullionnaire's kit.... I've found this link : http://www.shopwiki.co.uk/detail/d=Autolea.../jumpToFirst=t/ Do you think it's possible to just connecr thos adapter between my Bose amp and the Avic HU ? And what about the Most bus ? Thanks a lot.
  8. Rahlstrom, what did you do with the MOST harness ? At the back of my CDR23, there are the yellow and black harness (discribed in treullionniare DIY), and a third little harness with two orange wire (most bus). The MOST seems to link my BOSE amp and CD charger, so I suppose I can't just get rid of it... Any idea ? Thanks again.
  9. Hi, Here is a link thats shows another way to route the antenna, though it has the same location that described above (close to the alarm sensor) http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84794
  10. I would like to thank you for all the time you've spent to create these DIY. But I still don't understand something : Rahlstrom, it seems to me that the modifications you suggest to trieullionnaire 's DIY, are about the install (and alternate wiring) of an aftermarket amp.... So, what are the differences of procedures between MOST cars (your DIY) and non-MOST cars (Trieullionnaire's)? With my 996 (MOST), which instructions should I follow , since I have a Bose system ? Thanks again... Softail.
  11. The first pic is the rear of stereo CDR 23. The Most is the two orange wires. The second pic is the Bose amp (you still can notice the Most orange wires).
  12. As I can't post pics by PM, here are two pics of CDR23 rear panel and bose amp. The orange wires are the MOST.
  13. After many searches on forums, the only think I am sure about, is that the speakers are 2 ohms. The best would be to get technical information about the Bose amp.... Loren, maybe...?
  14. OK, but since Porsche cars come with a MOST bus (since 2002), I think that it is important to know if your kit can be installed in such cars.... The Bose system is not so unusual, as well..... I greatly appreciate your work and contribution to the Renntech community, and I reckon that many forumers (and not only me) would be glad to know more about the compatibility and abilities of your kit with 996, most, and Bose... :)
  15. How can you be sure of that ? See Trieullionaire 's post 23. He says the Bose speakers (2 ohms)must be replaced... ; Also see the Post in 996 section named BOSE + MOST. It is said BOSE AMP must be changed with aftermarket head unit... And what do you do with the Most (orange wires ) ?
  16. Hi, I don't really understand what you've done with the wires that were connected to the Bose Amp... Did you unplug them and replug to your new amp ? And how did you manage to put dash and door speakers together ? In Bose system, they are 2 ohms...
  17. Thanks for this great contribution.... Unfortunately, I think this kit cannot fit a 996 . There is a cupholder under the central vents....
  18. In my C2 MY2005, I have ODB2 (code 660) and I can configure what I want the central cluster to display.... I don't understand why this could not be anymore when you disconnect the MOST.... About your install , I sum up : - You have given up the Bose amp, and, ALL the speaker wires that were connected to the amp are now connected directly to the Kenwood unit. - all your speakers are now in use with the Kenwood HU, even rear speakers and subwoofer, correct ? - you have put dash and door speakers together so that you get 4 ohms (who did you do that ? just connected them together in the same Kemwood output? - what about rear speakers and subwoofer ? I reckon they are 2 ohms, too....? - And were did you hide the cable for the rear camera ? Where is this camera located in your car ? I would greatly appreciate yous answers. Thanks a lot for that !!!!
  19. jr_152, I don't know a lot about Porsche, but you can personalize the display in the center cluster. This can be done with different settings of "ODB" (I'm french, and I don't know the english word...maybe "in board computer" ..?). So you can choose to display other things and get rid of these four dashes... Further, you've exactly done what I want to do  So, can you please tell what you've done with the Bose amp ? Did you experience problems with the fact that Bose speakers are 2 ohms ? Where is your rear camera ? How did you wire it ? Thanks.
  20. +1..... And we have not to forget the CD changer....
  21. Thanks Loren....But nothing about the wiring in this manual.. Do you have any suggestion for those who have the MOST think (except replacing amp and speakers, of course...) ?
  22. All speaker wires are on the amp, including the sub woofer. I don't think the optic bus goes only to the amp, because of the radio display in the instrument cluster. I now get 4 dashes in the display. I think if the radio is deleted from the system with a PST2, those dashes will go away. I used the power output from the Kenwood, 50 watts x 4 and it sounds much better than the cdr23. I also hooked the dash and door speakers in series for the front, because they checked out at 2 ohms each, so in series that would be 4 ohms, which is OK for the kenwood. There is no sense putting an amp in if you do not replace all the speakers. That means doing a new complete intall ! Isn't it possible to keep amp and speakers, convert 2 ohms to 4 ohms, and eliminate the optic bus by replacing by a "classic" connection ? Even if the Kenwood is much better, it's one the other hand, a pity to send all the expensive Bose system to the bin...
